Mrs. Perkins by Jackson Gomez
Ms. Grollman by Khalil Howard
Dr. Jones by Amari Proctor
Mr. Knowles by Jhoselin Alvarez
Mrs. Perkins loves being a teacher. She
enjoys seeing students learn new infor-
mation and skills. She stated, “I love it
when students succeed, pass tests and
make the honor roll!” She believes
students can be successful if they have
a goal in life and work very hard to
realize their dream. She is a success-
ful teacher because she spends time
understanding the needs of young
people, practicing her skills, collabo-
rating with other teachers, and get-
ting help when doesn’t understand
something.
Mr. Knowles became a teacher because he wanted to help students
who needed help in math. He believes students must listen in class and
ask lots of questions to be successful. He became a great teacher by
continuing his education. His success comes from his grandparent’s
inspiration. The teacher he remembers the most is Mr. Law who
taught him calculus . Mr. Knowles’ favorite subject is Math! He’s also a
great Miami Dolphins fan.
Dr. Jones attended three different colleges: Barat Col-
lege in Lake Forest, Illinois; University of Washington
in Seattle, Washington; and Argosy University in
Phoenix, Arizona. She has been teaching for over 25
years. Her favorite subject is Reading but if she could
not do that she’d rather be a famous writer! Dr. Jones
thinks teaching is a lot of fun.
Ms. Grollman attended Albright College. She enjoys
working with children and she wants to see children be
successful in life. She remembers one special teacher,
Ms. Miller because she liked nature. Ms. Grollman
worked very hard to become a teacher. Her favorite
subject to teach is Reading. Can you believe her favorite
food is Macaroni and Cheese?
SPOTLIGHT ON TEACHERS
Ms. Randal by Jhoselin Alvarez
Ms. Randal went to St. Johns University, Trinity Universi-
ty, and Bowie State University (see our college spotlight).
She has taught for ten years. She was inspired by a college
coach and has always cheered. Ms. Randal believes stu-
dent success comes from practice and working together
as a team. “I try to do my best at all times!”

SPORTS by Amari Proctor
Robert Griffin III, known as RGIII is the quarterback for
the Washington Redskins. In 2012, he tore his ACL in
two places. He had to undergo surgery in Florida to re-
pair his knee. After surgery, RGIII had to spend time in
rehab and wear a special orthopedic brace which kept
the ACL stable. This season RGIII was cleared to start
the 2013 NFL regular season games. So far the Redskins
have had a rocky start, but RGIII had his best all around
performance against Chicago October 20th. He scored
two touchdowns.
