THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on
earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we
forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Exodus 14.10-20
What’s Next Exodus 14.10-20 3 January 2021
And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the
Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.” Exodus
14.13-14
The Backstory-
God sustained the Hebrews through years of slavery. (Exodus 1)
God saved Moses as a baby. (Exodus 1)
God provided an escape when Moses was in trouble. (Exodus 2)
God protected Israel through the 10 plagues. (Exodus 7-12)
And yet, the Israelites doubted, hesitated, and rebelled. Instructions for when you face uncertainty…
1. Don’t be afraid. (v 13) For God has not given us a spirit of fear,
but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1.7
2. Stand firm. (v 13) Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Ephesians
6.13
3. See the deliverance of the Lord. (v 13) Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!
Psalm 34.8 4. Hold your peace. (v 14)
Be still
Have faith
Keep calm and carry on

I want to thank all of you who participated in the Angel tree mission. Along with Old North UMC, we served over 40 children! This is the most we have ever had. Your generosity was overwhelming. Those that delivered gifts or gift cards saw and heard the need from the recipients. Also, a big thank you goes to Farm Boy meats and Bob Bonenberger for donating a nice big ham for all of our families.
I was disappointed that our church family was not able to follow our tradi-tion of choosing Angels off the tree and shopping for the children. This year has made many traditions impossible to follow. We look forward to a more normal mask-less new year with those old traditions restored.
Please know that everyone of you made a difference in a child’s Christ-mas. You were the hands and feet of Christ this Christmas season.
Amen!
Gloria Millay
