The journey so far -How it was before March 2008

We had 4 Neighbourhood Policing Teams across the whole district

This area was policed as part of a Neighbourhood Policing Team that covered the whole of the 5 towns

Neighbourhood policing supported Response policing

Success measured by Home Office & Force targets

Neighbourhood Policing Team’s primary measure of success was reducing Criminal Damage

Increased the number of Inspector led Neighbourhood Policing Teams from 4 to 7

An extra 100 police officers and 14 supervisors into our neighbourhood teams

Total recorded crime in our Neighbourhood Policing area has fallen by more than any other area in our district

The Serious Acquisitive crimes, (Burglary, Robbery and Vehicle Crime), have also fallen

There has been significant improvement in or attendance at our non emergency calls, (attendance in 4 hours or sooner)

But, your confidence in us has not yet increased to reflect the positive changes already made

And now the Pledge,…….. So what!

The journey so far -How it has been since March 2008
