Parish Information Regarding Communion: If you believe in the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Sacrament and have been prepared for recep-tion, you are invited to receive Holy Communion. Holy Commun-ion is placed on the tongue. If you have any questions regarding Communion (or blessings), or would like to inquire about mem-bership or envelopes, please ask Fr. John or call the rectory num-ber listed on the front. Restrooms are located in the Parish Hall. School of Christian Living: Following the 10:30 Mass, Labor Day to Memorial Day. Marriage Arrangements: Should be made at least six months in advance; at least one year for non-parishioners. Baptism Arrangements: Should be made at least two weeks pri-or to the ceremony, except in emergencies. Please contact the rectory immediately for any emergencies, hos-pitalizations, sickness or death. Due to the new HIPAA laws, we have no way of finding out if you are in the hospital unless a fami-ly member notifies the rectory. We highly encourage this practice. Polish National Union of America (Spojnia)
This is from our General Church: On the fourth Sunday of September our Church offers prayers for our sister organization, the Polish National Union of Ameri-ca. Our Church under the direction of Bishop Hodur organized the PNU in 1908 when members of our Church were denied in-surance coverage because they were in the PNCC. Over the years the PNU has contributed millions of dollars for our PNCC and her many programs and endeavors. Did you know tht our Gen-eral Synod passed the following resolution: "It shall be the moral obligation of the clergy and the laity of the PNCC to belong to the Polish National Union of America" (PNCC Constitution, page 65)? Today the PNU needs the support of all PNCC members to con-tinue the excellent fraternal benefits they have been providing for more than a century. For additional information on the life insur-ance and annuity products offered by the PNU please call them at (800) 724-6352.

A Note From the Pastor!
Next Sunday is the annual collection for the Youth Fund of the General Church. Please prayerfully support this fund, as the youth are the future of our Church. Intelligent use of these funds, in adequate amounts, can be the best insurance our Church can have for it’s continued existence. Please be generous!
Don’t forget to sign up for what you plan on bringing to our
Parish Pot-Luck Picnic on September 8. The sign-up is in the hall on the bulletin board by the Kitchen. Invite your relatives and friends, as we usually have more than enough food for every-one… also it’s a great way to bring someone to Mass beforehand.
Have a blessed week!

A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to St. Luke. Lk 12:13-21
Jesus said to his disciples: “I have come to set the earth on fire, and how I wish it were already blazing! There is a baptism with which I must be baptized, and how great is my anguish until it is accomplished! Do you think that I have come to establish peace on the earth? No, I tell you, but rather division. From now on a household of five will be divided, three against two and two against three; a father will be divided against his son and a son against his father, a mother against her daughter and a daughter against her mother, a mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.” This is the Gospel of the Lord. Praise to You, Lord Jesus Christ.

casting him into the cistern. He will die of famine on the spot, for there is no more food in the city.” Then the king ordered Ebed-melech the Cushite to take three men along with him, and draw the prophet Jeremiah out of the cistern before he should die. This is the Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God.
Psalm Lord, come to my aid. Lord come to my aid. (Ps. 40) A reading from the Letter of St. Paul to the Hebrews. Heb 12:1-4
Brothers and sisters: Since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us rid ourselves of every burden and sin that clings to us and persevere in running the race that lies before us while keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the leader and perfecter of faith. For the sake of the joy that lay before him he endured the cross, despising its shame, and has taken his seat at the right of the throne of God. Consider how he endured such opposition from sinners, in order that you may not grow weary and lose heart. In your struggle against sin you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding blood. This is the Word of the Lord Thanks be to God

V. Where can I hide from Your spirit? From Your presence, where can I flee? If I ascend to the heavens, You are there; if I lie down in Sheol, You are there too. R. Surely darkness shall hide me, and night shall be my light. Darkness is not dark for You, and night shines as the day. V. Glory be... R. As it was… A Reading from the Book of Jeremiah. Jer 38:4-6, 8-10
In those days, the princes said to the king: “Jeremiah ought to be put to death; he is demoralizing the soldiers who are left in this city, and all the people, by speaking such things to them; he is not interested in the welfare of our people, but in their ruin.” King Zedekiah answered: “He is in your power”; for the king could do nothing with them. And so they took Jeremiah and threw him into the cistern of Prince Malchiah, which was in the quarters of the guard, letting him down with ropes. There was no water in the cistern, only mud, and Jeremiah sank into the mud. Ebed-melech, a court official, went there from the palace and said to him: “My lord king, these men have been at fault in all they have done to the prophet Jeremiah,
