Our Campus Policy

What is homework?• First of all, let’s discuss what homework is

NOT:–It is not unfinished classwork.–It is not part of a student’s tutoring

time.–It is not differentiated practice for a

struggling student.

But a good homework assignment is:

•PurposefulBut what does that mean?

It means the work is--

NOT busywork!!

Equitably Distributed

• Validates all core subject/dept. areas.

Is time savvy (reasonable)

So here is the breakdown:

• Math……………………..15 min.• Science………………….15 min.• ELA………………………..15 min.• Social Studies…………15 min.• Electives…………………15 min.• CTE…………………………15 min.

90 min.

In a nutshell that means

15 minutes of homework per 45 minutes of class time.

To reiterate:• A good homework assignment

is one that is purposeful, given in amounts that are both reasonable to the student and equitably distributed to each core subject/ department.

Homework is above and beyond

•Classwork•Tutoring•Extra practice

They are under different umbrellas.
