Origami Fujimoto Cube
If you've folded one of the origami cubes found on this website, then you would know that they are all modular origami. Youfold 6 units of the same design and assemble them to make a cube. That's why this origami cube by Shuzo Fujimoto is sospecial. You fold the cube from ONE sheet of paper! It involves some really cool maneuvering to shape the paper into acube. Do try it!

Origami Fujimoto Cube Step 1: Start with a square sheet of paper, color side down. You can use the regular size 6 inch x6 inch (15cm x 15cm) square paper.
Fold the paper horizontally and vertically so that you divide the paper into 16 squares.

Origami Fujimoto Cube Step 2: Now recrease the folds shown below into mountain folds. Make sure to go over eachcrease a few times.
Origami Fujimoto Cube Step 3: Make 8 diagonal folds as shown below.
Origami Fujimoto Cube Step 4: Fold paper in half, bringing the top half down to the bottom.
Origami Fujimoto Cube Step 5: Watch the video to see how you can transform the paper into a cube.

It took a few times before I got 'the slide' to work like it does in the video and once the tuck was done it
almost fell together. I used opalescent paper and it looks great.

I've been folding in my downtime at my day job, and have challenged myself to fold smaller and smaller
pieces -- this is my latest Fujimoto cube, and the smallest that I've made to date at .25" x .25" x .25"!!

craft! I think I could only do it with the live presence of a master, telling me what's going on.
