About Open Days at AITOpen Days at AIT present an ideal opportunity to discover more about going to college in Athlone. You will get to talk with lecturers about courses that are of interest to you, find out what you will be studying and what type of jobs you can expect to qualify for.
You will also meet with current students to get the low-down on college life; from completing assignments to going for sporting glory.
Meet some of AIT’s 525 international students, who will tell you about their cultures, their home countries and what they love about AIT.
Learn about AIT’s partnerships with more than 230 third level institutions around the world, which give AIT students the option of spending a semester or a year abroad in cities as diverse as Toronto, Beijing and Prague.
Exhibition areas are located in the canteen of the main building on campus, the Engineering and Informatics Building, the science facilities, the Hospitality, Tourism and Leisure Studies Building, and the new student centre, The SU.
Campus Map
Campus tours will guide you around our facilities, which have received more than €115 million investment since 2000. Get to see lecture theatres and labs, as well as the institute’s Olympic- and FIFA-standard indoor and outdoor facilities, including the new International Arena.
Our student ambassadors are on hand to guide you around campus and to answer any of your questions about college life. They are the ones in the bright t-shirts, so you can’t miss them!
Some facts and figures worth bearing in mind: just 7% of AIT graduates were seeking employment six months after completing their studies, 89% of honours degree students complete their degree at AIT, while 63% of honours degree students graduate with a 1st or 2.1.
