The 2010 CFC Fullness Fiesta was an event inspired by the fullness of God's love. As the CFC communities came together, I witnessed spiritual nourishment and amazing fellowship. Being chosen as a member of the SFC band was an
amazing experience. To worship God
with a full heart & see your brothers n
sisters in Christ, hands raised, arms open
to receive the blessings of the spirit
is something I will always remember.
This was my first big event within the
community and what a way to begin
my journey in SFC! There was delicious
food, a beautiful mass service, and the
disco part of the evening saw everyone
show their finest dance moves. During
the day there were performances from
each of the ministries, each individually
talented and each uniquely crafted! My
involvement was based around being a
member of the worship ministry band.
There were endless days of practising
at the CFC centre and all of the hard
work payed off with God's blessing (of
course). It would not have been possible
without our leaders, our coordinators, our
members. Lastly it would and could not
have been possible without the Lord
himself. Remember God'’s fullness in
your life and if it anything I took away
from the Fiesta it is : “For myself, if I
am to stake all I have and hope to be
upon anything, I will venture it upon the
abounding fullness of God - upon the
assurance that, as the heavens are higher
than the earth, so are His ways higher
than our ways, and His thoughts than our
thoughts” -Henry Norris Russell

Last month (October), Darrille
Deligero from Blacktown
Cluster, was blessed to be part
of a nursing mission trip to
the Solomon Island’s with her
college. More than a nursing
mission trip, because of her
mission readiness, her visit to
the islands became a Christ
experience.
After sharing my plans with our
Full Time Worker (FTW) Eric
he made arrangements for me
with those from our community in the
Solomon Islands. The moment I stepped
out of the airport I was greeted with
big smiles by two Solomon Islander
Youth For Christ (YFC) members; Kevin
(FTW) and Amos. They accompanied
my college mate and I all the way
to our hotel, and invited us to mass
the following Sunday. Kevin gave me
precise instructions on where, how and
when to catch (what they called) the
bus.
Come that Sunday, I felt faint
during the mass. So I spent most of
the service sitting outside to get fresh
air. As I sat there sweating in the
heat I reflected on the past three days
I had spent in the Solomon Island’s.
Completely out of my comfort zone;
tired, sick and craving home food. I
was upset and just wanted to go home.
After mass we met up with Kevin who
introduced me to a few of the couple
coordinators and YFC members.
We went into the parish hall where there
were more people from both YFC and
Singles for Christ (SFC). They were all
quite shy – but later in my trip I learnt
that’s part of their culture. We began the
fellowship with an opening worship lead
by Kevin. They sang the same songs we
do at home but some just with different
timing. One of the songs was “Home”.
While singing this song with brothers and
sisters in Christ I had just met I felt the
Lord speak to me. I felt his reassurance
that no matter where in the world I may
be, I am home wherever he is. And God
is where? Everywhere! I felt one with
them singing together, praising the Lord.
I felt the Lord telling me not to be afraid
of what I had ahead of me in the next
two weeks because he has called me to
be there for a purpose. After the worship
Kevin asked me to speak at the front. I
shared with the group how I had felt in
that morning and the Lords message I
heard during worship. I also explained
to them that I serve in High School
Base (HSB) in Sydney and that I was sad
because I was missing out on our first
HSB conference that day. I asked them to
join me in praying for the conference.
The rest of my time in the
Solomon Islands I spent in a remote
island where I worked in the hospital.

The Oceania Great Adventure Tour (GAT) in the Philippines is an annual trip that YFC's from all over Oceania are invited to participate in. Participants travel throughout Philippines visiting historical sites, meeting YFCs, building GK houses and worshipping God every day. Past GATters (the term used for people who've been to GAT) have described the experience as life-changing and eye opening, but each experience is different, and you'll never know until you go.
The 2011 GAT goes from January 7 - 25, and costs $550 for registration (which covers internal travel costs, accommodation, meals, entry to events/sites and materials). If you're interested, contact Eric Fortaleza on 0414971941
Want to go on an adventure? Come to GAT '11!
I met many people who
believed in Jesus but many
also that had their own
spiritual belief from their
tribes. Despite differences of
beliefs the nurses and others
working in the hospital were
still very compassionate and
caring towards whoever came
down to this Christian hospital
needing help. We also had
to respect their beliefs as
we visited small clinics in
their villages. Getting to the
villages we travelled by boat.
Many times the currents were
rough, I got scared and this
reminded me of when the
disciples were out fishing
during the storm. I knew all
I needed to do was pray for
Photography by Darrille Deligero
the Lord to keep us safe on
our journey, as well as sing
my favourite song for when
I’m scared “whom shall I fear.
Going on this
trip was such an amazing
experience. I learnt so much:
about nursing, about the
culture in the Solomon Islands,
about myself and about my
faith. The Lord shows himself
to us in so many different
ways, ways we don’t always
understand, we need to just
trust in him and remain
faithful. “He will keep you
safe from all hidden dangers
and from all deadly diseases”
(Psalm 91).

Victory @HSB
DID YOU KNOW?
CFC Youth for Christ's High School Based (HSB) program started in 2000?. This year, the HSB program had an abundance of victories from God, with ?? new high schools opening up YFC clubs and having their first ever HSB Conference in October, joining all YFC HSB schools together to deepen their faith. YFC High School based is now present in ?? schools around New South Wales alone and has an estimated amount of ?? members actively deepening their relationship with Christ through the program.
by Raphael Rueda, Kellyville
When I joined YFC back
in march, I felt so moved
by God. I was much
happier, more energetic and you
could tell just through my actions. I
really wanted to share these amazing
feelings with my friends and peers.
The problem was I could never get
my friends to attend a joining camp.
When I heard that the HSB program
was coming to my school, Terra
Sancta, I was so excited. I thought
that this would be the opportunity
that would bring my friends closer
to God.
Unfortunately, our HSB
meetings were held after school, so
not as many people turned up as
I had hoped. Despite this setback, I
continued to encourage my friends to
stay back after school and attend the
meetings. Although I was finally able
to convince one friend to stay back
I still felt that we could do much
better. That’s when we were given
permission to have our meetings
on Thursday afternoons during our
‘Learning Enrichment’ periods.
Now, I can’'t even count the amount
of people attending the meetings. I
find that every week we’re setting up
even more chairs than the last.
Just a few weeks ago
we were able to have our own
‘mini’ E-Day thanks to our awesome
president Jasmin Baena and our
equally awesome vice president
Dominique Demagante. I’'m so proud
of how much HSB Terra has grown
in such a short time. From 20 or
so in a small prayer room to 50
(guessing, probably more) occupying
the biggest building on campus. I
feel that it is through these HSB
meetings that my dream of bringing
my peers closer to God will slowly
become reality. Praise God for HSB.

by Kieffer Danao, Quakers Hill
2010 would have to be of the most
challenging but enjoyable years of
my life as I had to take part doing my
HSC and during the year, Terra Sancta
College had started HSB and I was
announced to be President. I thought
I would've struggled throughout the
year to carry out this responsibility as
well as managing my own household
in my chapter. Also earlier during the
year when I resumed back to my last
year of high school, I was considering
of being inactive from YFC until the
HSC period was over. However, I
decided to stay dedicated to my faith
and service with Quakers Hill Chapter
and Hawkesbury Cluster, participating
meetings and entry camps.
I thought I would've not
made this far without the support,
blessings and love from inspirational
leaders, cluster and chapter heads,
HPVs, my fellow brothers and sisters
and amazing couple coordinators who
have watched over not only myself
but other HSC students which we are
thankful. Some of those who have
done their HSC gave advice on what
obstacles I may encounter and how I
have to overcome them. For my HSC,
I did 12 units and my subjects were
English Advance, Mathematics 2 unit,
Studies of Religion II, Hospitality -
Commercial Cookery, Software Design
and Development and Biology. I made
my subject selection more diverse so
it would help me have a particular
interest for the future such as becoming
a chef, game developer or maybe a
teacher. I've made many sacrifices to
accomplish my goals. One of my goals
was to grow the number of members
within Terra Sancta HSB as numbers
where quite small but this brings up
one of my personal victories this year
which was the Hawkesbury HSB entry
camp. The participants from that camp
increased our numbers which was
awesome.
After graduating high school,
I was abit disappointed to become
president for a short duration of the
year but I'm happy how much HSB
has grown within the community. The
HSC period finished really quickly
which was no suprise to me because
many of the previous HSC graduates
told us that at this period, time flies by.
For my exams, I was fairly confident
with most of my subjects and I think
I performed well enough to get atleast
band 5. I'll offer some HSC advice I
used to the Year 12's of 2011: Don't
stress yourself as it would bring more
stress, manage your time well, sleep
well, eat healthy and exercise which
I didn't do haha. Also whenever you
feel the need to give up, I would
always refer from the Bible and read
Proverbs 3:5-6 'Trust in the Lord with
all your heart, and lean not on your
own understanding. In all your ways
acknowledge Him, and He shall direct
your path'.
I wish to everyone still doing
their studies next year, good luck and
study well. As for now, I await for my
ATAR which is coming in soon and I'm
praying I receive the results I need to
enter university. I'm very grateful for
the many blessings God has given this
year.

My HSC Experience
The Higher School Certificate (HSC) is
considered to be the most important
year of a NSW high school student's
life, and for this reason, many YFC's
become distant from God because
they focus more on their studies than
everything else in their lives. The
key to success is balance. Ronald Estepa,
Chapter Head of Campbelltown chapter,
and Monicarae Bautista, from Kogarah, share
their experience...
Personally, the HSC for me was very
challenging, but very rewarding. I
seriously loved my school (Mount Carmel
Catholic High School). Even though I used
to complain about waking up at 6:30am or
missing the bus for school, secretly inside, I
knew that I had this connection to my school
and loved it. Therefore, in my final
year of schooling, the HSC Year
(Year 12), I tried my very best to
grab opportunities that was thrown at
me; since it was my last year - with
whatever I did, I did it with love.
Consequently, my biggest
highlight was the blessing of being
elected as School Captain of 2010,
through an opportunity that was
presented to me, and through my
prayers and the prayers of my loved
ones. The privileges to be a school
leader was a means to evangelize
my school, so that we could have
HSB run at our school. It was also a
means to be an excellent role model
in the academic and cultural side of
my school.
My biggest challenge was
balancing academia with being a YFC
chapter head and school captain -
and it was the hardest. However, I
just kept looking towards the verse
1 Corinthians 16:13-14; I had to do
everything with love. Despite how
difficult life was for me, through all
the stresses and triumphs and even
through the most tragic event that
has happened to me and my grade,
a death of a beloved grade member
during the HSC trials; Everything was
done out of love for my B.A.S.I.Cs
(Brothers and Sisters in Christ).
With all the challenges,
stresses and anguish the HSC brought
me, I was so in the moment that I
forgot to rely on God. Sometimes I
thought He wasn’t there for me, so I
thought I was strong enough without
Him - I thought I could get through
the HSC without Him. However, after
my last exam, I thought to myself, the
Lord was there the whole time,; He
was there when I was elected, in all
my speeches; He was there through
my toughest exams; He was there
telling me it was his plan to take my
friend to heaven; He was there right
next to me in my HSC Exams, HIS
love was there. This is because with
everything I did, I did with love, not
my own love, but the Love the Lord
has shown and given me.
My one and only piece
of wisdom to the new HSC’ers is
that, whenever you feel burnt out,
or whenever you feel that you'’ve
triumphed, that'’s all because of
God’'s love - He is always there and
He will not give you anything you
cannot handle.
“Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong. Let all that you do be done with love.”

What many parents say,
"HSC is an important
part of your life."
It is a time where you need to
make priority of studies and back off
going out and doing extra curriculur
activities. During the HSC period, I
had dealt with so many thoughts and
feelings which seemed to be endless.
At times I felt excited, pumped, and at
other times, anxious, fragile, the feelings
of having too much on one plate,
leading me to endless tears.
What had turned these
negative feelings around, allowing me
to be motivated to move on is my
friends, especially the one which we
all have in common, God. Whenever
my emotions got the better of me, I
looked towards the Bible. I would
stop what I was doing, open up my
Bible and read non stop. Ironically, I
felt that I had read Bible scriptures
more than I did practically studying.
I felt that God was trying to send me
messages of strength, patience and to
keep on going one step at a time.
Yes, the HSC is very important, but it
does not necessarily mean you should
stop all your extra curriculur activities
and spending time with your mates.
HSC goes for a few weeks and it isn't
every day that you'd have an exam.
During my HSC experience, I kept a
healthy diet by going for sunrise jogs
and hiking.
For all future HSC-ers: keep
a balanced diet, a balanced schedule
and take regular breaks during
studies. Take a few minutes before
and after studying/examinations to
pray and ask for God's wisdom.
Another tip is to study in big groups,
as you're all going on the same path,
striving for success. Studying this way,
allows you to keep in track with
what notes you do or don't have.
You won't be able to process notes if
you write notes in bulky paragraphs,
therefore, write in dot points and
make acronyms for main points, so
you can memorise notes easier. I
found it easier memorising notes by
writing in lyrical form. Find what
your strengths and weaknesses are
when it comes to studying and do
not follow other people's pattern of
study, as you may not achieve the
same result.
I wish all 2011 HSC-ers goodluck, and
look towards God for guidance.

The Fullness of 2010
(more on pg 10)
It’'s been almost a year since YFC’s ever
renowned, “DECLARE. ; reflecting on
all that has gone on from then to now,
well only one word comes to mind,
Sandwich.
The year so far has been
non-stop chapter assemblies, e-days,
households, GPMs and fellowships (and
these are just the 5 dollar events) with
retreats, joining camps, leaders trainings,
discovery camps and conferences, it
seems like everyone’'s wallet’s lost a bit
of weight this year. The
reason I say sandwich, well, I’'ve never
had so many sandwiches before in my
life. Usually I'd just buy food when I
go out, however, a mix of New Zealand
flight prices, increase of the cost of
petrol and well, so many camps, I find
I’'m hitting the toast pretty hard.
Praise God for the successful
launch of High School Based (with
the first HSB conference) and the
continuing success of Kids for Christ,
the launch of the very amazing (and
brilliantly named) YFC NSWLetter and
it goes without saying, the success of
the basketball and soccer competitions.
But the year hasn’t been all Nutella and
Peanut butter sandwiches. Sometimes
we have to eat boring turkey and
lettuce sandwiches. Service, just like
sandwiches, can’'t all be fun. Each
chapter has had their share of doubts,
tears, fights, cold wars, disagreements,
inactives members and leaders who
won’t stop playing Call of Duty. It’s
through those sandwiches that make us
appreciate the times we get to have
Nutella. It’'s through those sandwiches
that we truly grow.
Remember this year as
the year you lived in the fullness of
Christ, the year you lived passionately,
excellently and full of integrity. The
year you were happy to go with less,
so you could get to know God more.
The year of the sandwich.
I'’m hungry for what God has in store
for us next year.
by Adrian Magno, Nepean
The Year of the Sandwich
I thought that after the sprint and
constant Stepping Up of 2009, God
would allow me to slow down.
Instead, He asked me to keep moving
with Him. My year kicked off in the
Philippines where I saw Christ on the
heights of the Banaue rice terraces and
in the depths of Sagada caves with
my best frenemy, my sister, at the first
family Great Adventure Tour. He let
me live out the CFC mission: Families
in the Holy Spirit Renewing the
Face of the Earth sending my family
on a mission trip to Rockhampton,
Queensland. Then, during worship
with over 550 brothers and sisters
♥
at the Oceania Leaders Conference
in New Zealand, He affirmed me of
His strong presence in the Youth For
Christ ministry. He even allowed me
to witness the strength of the CFC
community through beautiful women at
the Handmaids conference in Canberra.
Although I experienced His
fullness in my service, I struggled
to bring Christ with me everywhere,
especially at work, where it was
difficult to see Him through the
deadlines, corporate culture and caffeine
high. Despite developing a close
friendship with my workmate, I still felt
like I had to hold back when I spoke
about my faith. But He slowly worked
in our relationship and we now share
our faith freely with each other and
I’m really excited to attend her baptism
next month.
Fullness of Life in Christ isn’t
just about seeing Him in our service in
the community. It’s about putting Christ
in the centre and letting our lives
revolve around Him, letting Him lead
our families, relationships, studies, work
and everything in between. Because
God reveals Himself to us in the most
unlikely places, but only if we open our
hearts and seek Him.
As the year comes to a close, YFC leaders and Coordinators reflect on the past year...

In yesterday'’s Gospel, Jesus wept over Jerusalem. As the year
draws to a close, maybe we should also ask ourselves, this year,
had we known better what makes for peace?
I had this friend whom I always invited to CLP. Every
time, I got rejected. They said their relationship as husband and
wife is ok. They raise their children well and bring them to
Church every week. They help their relatives back home and
are also involved in a scholarship program for a kid in their
province. Tired of being rejected again, I grumbled to myself.
Truly, they are good people and believe in God. They seem to
be happy and at peace. And when they die, in God'’s love and
mercy, there is no reason why they should not go to heaven.
So if both of us are going to heaven anyway (I assume I am also
going there myself), why our lives now should be so different?
Why do I have to do all these extra service of looking after
other families, looking after YFC, sacrificing my time, giving up
my own schedules, money, etc.?
Of course, that was just a fleeting whinge. Who knows
what happens when we die anyway? And besides, were the
workers in the vineyard not supposed to grumble when the
late comers received the same wage? (Mt 20:1-16). The Lord
affirmed me by making me comprehend something that is so
certain and tangible, something that is so here and now. Yes, the
difference lies in the quality of life that we live here on earth.
Gospel Reading & Reflection (Thursday, 18th November 2010)
Let Your Light ShineLuke 19 : 41 - 44
As he drew near, he saw the city and wept over it, saying "If this day you only knew what makes for peace - but now it is hidden from your eyes. For the days are coming upon you whe your enemies will raise a palisade against you; they will encircle your and hem you in on all sides. They will smash you to the ground and your children within you, and they will not leave one stone upon another within you because you did not recognise the time of your visitation.

For I live a life that is an envy of millionaires (if I may borrow
from Bro. Melo Villaroman’s description), a life that is full.
* •I don'’t have to go on expensive travels to have quality
time with my husband and kids; a train ride from Warwick
Farm to Central will do;
* •I don'’t have to buy my kids expensive toys for them to
appreciate me; they think my lasagne is better than Rashay’s,
my pansit is better than Pho’s, and my pancake is better than
McDonalds;
* •I don'’t need the latest fashion to accessorise myself; my
workmates said I’m beautiful inside and out;
* •I don'’t have to work so hard to leave an inheritance for
my kids so they can cope when we’re gone; they will cope
because God is their strength and the love of the community
will always be there for them.
I can go on and on but I’d rather invite you to do the same
exercise. Had we known better what makes for peace? It is a
life that is rooted in Christ, established in faith and abounding in
thanksgiving. It is a life that is a foretaste of heaven that is to
come. May God be praised!

Dear brothers and sisters,
This year has been a full and
busy year for the whole community.
there
have been ups, and downs but through
it all God has kept to his
promise to be faithful to our family.
Brothers and sisters, we stand here
before you today to show you that
God truly has blessed our family
through trials, teaching us that God
will always remain faithful, provide us
with strength and humble us
through adversity. although it has been
difficult sitting into the new
roles as yfc sector coordinators, God
has always been our source of
strength. with every struggle, God has
blessed our family, our
service, and prayer life 100 fold.
The Fullness of 2010
(continued from pg 8)
Our year began with leading
the first every, family GAT and we were
blessed with the opportunity to attend
this GAT with our whole family.
we could really see our God work
through the young ones and although
it was the start of the year, we could
foresee a year filled with our
God's love and lessons lying ahead. as
the year progressed we found
our service continuing to pick with
various cluster events and
countless BINGO nights. trully our God
was blessing us and filling our
days with service to Him. through all
these times, we couldnt have
done it without staying true to our
prayer times and daily masses to
nourish the soul and stay close to God.
we thought that this year had
been trully fulfilling and a real blessing
till we were asked to step
up as sector heads. what a suprise! we
did not expect to take on such
a large role. however with God's
wisdom and strength, we knew that in
faith, he would guide us and show us
what he wanted to do. however
with saying yes came a string of
personal problems. truly God was
testing us like he did to Job, God was
trying to show that He was God
in every area of our lives. That he was
King at home, in all areas of
my family, at work and not just in our
service to Him. we found that
as a family we were praying more, Tito
Nick and I prayed hard. We
found ourselves constantly praying for
discernment and guidance.
PRAYERS & PRAISE* For the exam results of all HSC and University students, who have just finished their final exams. Lord, Graciously hear us.
Let us pray for one another! Send prayer requests to 0415 167 682 OR cfcyfcnswycom@gmail.com
* For the success of all upcoming events, including Cluster Christmas Parties, Bethlehem HSB Entry Camp, and Campus Discovery Camp. Lord, Graciously hear us.
* For the success of the past camps - Nepean Discovery Camp, Syd West Entry Day, Rooty Hill, QH, KV, Suburban Campus, Glenmore Park & Kogarah Entry camps, and the KFC AKV Conference - Praise God!
* For all the sick in our community, especially - Godelio Gomez, Bay Musa, Nick Tenorio, we humbly ask that the Lord heal them physically, emotionally and spiritually. Lord, Graciously hear us.

by Emmanuel Manalad, YCOM
Since YCOM had begun its
establishment at the beginning of the
year, the documentation of YFC events
and activities stuck with me, it was all
about legacy and what we have to
show for God and every photo I take
is what God sees through me. My
goal is that from now on, when we can,
capture all the moments that we serve
God and pass it on for those who will
take our place in our service for God.
Photography has always been at large,
but evidently lots of youth have been
picking up photography as a hobby
others for career. Personally I wish to
go on ahead with photography as a
career at the same time I choose to
share my gifts in the community as
one of the few things that I do in my
service in YCOM. For myself, I try to
think that every photo I take was God
showing me what He sees and He
wants me to show you.
At the same time I encourage all
you reading who have an eye for
photography or in touch with your
creative side, lift that up to God and
use it for Him and your gifts will grow,
you might be the owner of the photo
of the month! In addition to that I also
take this time to Honour a few of your
brothers and sisters in our community
who also share this particular gift and
have taken photos in your chapter
meetings, cluster and sector meetings
and even at OLC:
- Len Lara
- Jordan Anthony Demagante "JAD"
- Darrille Deligero
- Christian Rueda
- Renan Laroza
- Russell Noble
- Krystle Cassar
- Arvin Caraos
- Mauen Gabagat
- Christian Alba
- Lynuz “"Jeko"” Macalalad
- Mark Encarnacion
- Daniel Alfaro
These are just a few of people you
maybe familiar with and so much more
that can be added to that list of people
who use their talents in photography
to document events for the future to
see and us to enjoy. Praise God for
these talents and that He encourages
us to share the gifts He gives whether
it be photography or not, and despite
the challenges, we can do anything in
our God.
2 Thessalonians 2: 16-17 “May our
Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our
Father, who loved us and by his grace
gave us eternal encouragement and
good hope, encourage your hearts and
strengthen you in every good deed and
word.”
Photography in YCOM
We are seeking young artists to submit their work to us and give God glory through their talents. You don't have to have an SLR to be a photographer - just a vision. If your photo gets chosen, you will receive two free movie tickets.
Photos must be at least 600 x 400 (72dpi).
