EOR Formation Evaluation Topical Conference – C.A.F.E. - SPWLA Colombia. Formation Evaluation plays a critical role in the Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) process. Selection of the optimum EOR method for a specific reservoir is controlled mainly by the rock and its fluids properties and how realistic are their characterization. The interchange of energy, mass and chemistry within a reservoir generates different behaviors in the rock-fluids system. Microscopic reactions diverts into Macroscopic conditions like capillary pressure, permeability, wettability and “synthetic diagenesis” of the rocks . Understanding experimental observations, mass conservation and phase reaction helps improve our knowledge on EOR Formation Evaluation.
