DAVENING and TOGETHERNESS It is preferable that even when one must daven alone, our davening should be synchronized with the community minyan.
If you will not be attending a minyan, please do join us in time. Weekday Mincha/Ma’ariv time will be at 5:15 pm. (You must be preregistered to attend in person.) The weekday Shacharit Minyan begins at 7:30 am. (You must be preregistered to attend in person.)
You can also connect to Mincha/Ma’ariv and Shacharit on zoom https://zoom.us/j/83599025152 (PW: mincha)
Earliest time for weekday Mincha is 1:33pm When not davening with a minyan recommended times for
Weekday Ma’ariv: After 7:18pm (Tzait) After 6:43pm (Shkiah)
Note: During the spring and summer months we rely on the leniency to daven Ma’ariv after Plag when physically davening with a minyan. When a minyan is not available, the earliest Ma’ariv should begin, Sunday-Thursday, is after sunset (see times above). In order to extend the holiness of Shabbat, we may daven Friday’s Shabbat Ma’ariv after Plag, this week after 5:34pm. One doing so should daven Mincha before Plag.
May our united prayers bring added blessings to our community and Klal Yisrael.

The Front Door Has Moved to the East Wing
Starting immediately, the entrance to the shul is through the door on the southeast corner of the building, closest to the lake.
We appreciate your patience while waiting for us to answer the door.
On Shabbat, this door is only an entrance. To ensure maximum safety during COVID-19 please follow these exit directions. Exit the Main Sanctuary through the door adjacent to the bimah and walk through the sukkah. You may enter the Beit
Midrash then proceed to your left through the double doors next to the Aron Kodesh. Make sure to pause and say a Pasuk (eg Shema Yisrael) as you pass
through the Beit Midrash. Signs and arrows are posted to help guide you.
Thank you for your continued cooperation in helping us all stay safe and healthy.
Our Sukkah is always available for those who wish to physically connect to the davening in the Main Sanctuary. We keep at least one door open to the Sukkah. You may let us know if you need a second door open. There are chairs set in the
Sukkah, as well.
Weekday Shacharit minyan now begins with Pesukai D’Zimra recited in Shul. We start with Birchot HaShachar, Yehi Ratzon, the Akaida, L’Olam- Early Shema and then skip to Rabbe Yishmael. Shabbat Shacharit begins with Nishmat Kol Chai.

November Book Reviews
MONDAYS AT 8:00 PM
For Background: The assassination of Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin remains the single
most consequential event in Israel's recent history, and one that fundamentally altered the trajectory for both Israel and the Palestinians. In Killing a King , Dan Ephron relates the parallel stories of Rabin and his stalker, Yigal Amir, over the
two years leading up to the assassination, as one of them planned political deals he hoped would lead to peace, and the other plotted murder. "Carefully reported,
clearly presented, concise and gripping," It stands as "a reminder that what happened on a Tel Aviv sidewalk 20 years ago is as important to understanding
Israel as any of its wars" (Matti Friedman, The Washington Post ).
“Killing of a King” By Dan Ephron
Monday, November 20, 2020 Sarah Lazarus
For Background:
In his own personal weight-loss struggle, David Zulberg turned to the
forgotten wisdom of the ancients--Maimonides, Aristotle, Hippocrates,
Galen, and even Benjamin Franklin--to find consensus on ideal
nutrition for optimum physical and emotional health.
