The FlightpathA students flight path is likely to vary between subjects and may not be linear

Starting points may vary for different subjects

Three assessment points involving a formal data capture – linked to reporting

Provides a projected progress pathway

Has ‘working towards’ grade for students who are below Grade 1 in KS3

Use ‘fine levelling’ to show security

Target GradesYear 11 ‘Landing’ point of the flightpath

Target grades are created based on KS2 SATs data:-English Target is based on ‘KS2 Reading SAT’

Maths Target is based on ‘KS2 Maths SAT’

All other subjects are based on average of KS2 Reading and Maths.

Set in Year 7 and tracked against leading towards their GCSE outcomes in Year 11.

The GCSE Grading criteriaGrade 4 is broadly equivalent to the old C Grade.

Grade 5 is seen as a new ‘good pass’ which will feature in some headline performance measures

New Grade 9 is above current A* (top 1/3 of current A* to achieve)

Achieving Grade 4 or above in English (either Language or Literature) and Maths is seen as meeting the ‘National pass standard’

Reporting to ParentsThree reporting points across the academic year, one each ‘old’ term (Autumn, Spring, Summer)

1x Full Report

2x Progress Reports

1x Parents Evening

Progress reports will be redesigned to include the following information at all KS3/4:-

End of KS4 target gradeCurrent Progress Grade at that data capture pointFlight Path Position – what does the grade show about actual progress against projectedEngagement for Learning Level

Transition Report at the end of the induction term.
