Vision of NCDC: residents, property owners, business, industrial, and

institutional entities that are working together to foster community control of economic development improve economic conditions provide adequate and affordable housing support local business ventures and promote employment opportunities within the

community.

Research Areas What is sustainable redevelopment when

analyzed from a cultural, ecological, and economic viewpoint? How can we measure success over time?

Development Potential: How can Nortown be integrated with surrounding communities? What can give Nortown a sense of cohesiveness?

Historical: What has Nortown been, where is it going? What is the cultural makeup?

Economic: What is the current economic status of Nortown? What is the long term benefit of sustainable design? Can we compare the “green” scheme with the “traditional” scheme?
