Pavia-ItalyThefirsteditionoftheWinterSchoolinPaviaoffersaninformedandpractice-orientedapproachtothemain challenges, current discussions and key issues around linking relief, rehabilitation anddevelopment.TheWinterSchoolisorganizedinfivemodulesconductedwithsimilartechniquesofactive learning:frontal lessonswiththepresentationoftheoryandcasestudies,freediscussion,structured inquiries, brainstorm sessions, and fishbowl. Moreover, participatory facilitationtechniqueswillbeadoptedinordertoencouragetheinvolvement learningexperienceofallthetrainees.Afterbeingmarginalisedintheaiddebateforacoupleofdecades,aftertheendofXXcenturytheissueoflinkingrelief,rehabilitationanddevelopment(LRRD)isbackontheagendaandisinfluencingtheplanningofdonors, implementingactorsand local institutions.Thecreationof financialandoperationalcross-cuttingframeworksforlongandshort-termaidprogrammingiscurrentlybeingdeveloped,butstillproblematic.This course is a blend of theory and practical learning which will introduce participants to theconcepts and will give them practical opportunities to apply these concepts to operationalapproaches.Thecoursefacultyiscomprisedofleadingexpertsfromaroundthehumanitarianworld,presentingconceptualandpracticalinsightintothecoursecontentthusprovidingparticipantswithfirst-handexperience,examplesandcasestudiesdrawnfrommajorhumanitarianemergencies.TheWinterSchoolisorganisedbytheUniversityofPavia,memberoftheNOHANetwork,CISPandtheUNITWIN/UNESCONetworkonInternationalCooperationandDevelopment,withthefinancialsupportofDGECHO.Eventdate12-16December2016;courselengthof5days.
