sure of 279 patients waschecked free of cost andthey were offered expertopinion. A total of 22posters were also displayedto provide simplified infor-mation regarding diabetes,its complications and diet-related information by theInstitutes’ dietician ManjuManthalkar.

Dhananjay Dhonde, afarmer hailing fromDongaon village alongwithLaxman Mukind,Babasaheb Pansare, AshokMatsagar, BalasahebJagtap, Sambhaji Turakaneon Friday submitted a rep-resentation to tehsildarurging the government tostart the procurement cen-tre immediately. They alsoalleged that the farmers arelooted by the traders whoprocure the maize at the

reduced rate than the mini-mum support priceannounced by the govern-ment.

This year the governmenthas announce a minimumsupport price of Rs 1,425per quintal for maize withthe maximum moisturelimit to 14 points. There isbumper crop of cotton andmaize this year. Around 5 to6 lakh quintal could bereaped in the tehsil in thelast kharif season.Therefore there is anurgent need to set up pro-curement centre for maizeby the government.

It is said that due tounavailability of the space

for the procurement ofmaize the process of settingup of the centre is delayed.Sahebrao Autade, whoheads Kharedi VikreeSangh, a cooperative socie-ty that is entrusted to pur-

chase and sell maize, fertil-izers and other coarsegrains has submitted a rep-resentation to the tehsildar15 days back, yet the centrehas not been started.Godown is also not avail-able at the governmentwarehouse corporationoffice situated on stationroad here. Sources said thatas the Godown will be avail-able, a deal would be struckin between the warehouseand kharedi Vikree Sangh,for providing godown tostore the purchased maizefrom the farmers. It isexpected that procurementcentre would be started inthree to four days.

The body of an accused intriple murder case wasfound lying in Madalmohiarea in Gevrai tehsil onThursday evening.

As reported earlier, thebodies of three personsincluding TulsiramLaxman Pawar (33) ,Jaishiri Laxman Pawar(30) and their son SureshTulsiram Pawar (8) were

found in a well at Sushi inGevrai tehsil on October

30, 2017. Initially the policehas assumed it that triomight have committed sui-cide.

Navnath Dhage, thebrother of deceasedJaishiri lodged a com-plaint against RajendraLaxman Pawar (35), alleg-ing that there was disputeover a piece of landbetween two real brothersTulsiram and Rajendra.

Rajendra murdered hisbrother Tulsiram, sister-

in-law and nephew. Afterkilling them, he dumpedtheir bodies into a well sothat people could take it asuicide case.

When Rajendra came toknow that a case of murderwas registered againsthim, he was abscondingsince then. His body wasfound in river water nearMadalmohi area in Gevraitehsil. The gruesome mur-ders took place for one aand half acres of land.

According to prosecutionlawyer, apart from the lifeimprisonment, a fine of Rs5000 was also imposed onthe culprit identified asAzhar Pappuwale. Rafiq,his accomplice, was award-ed a three-year jail. Themurder took place on April7, 2015 on Washim-HingoliRoad.

Dadu Manjare was beat-en to death by Pappuwaleafter his car collided withthe motorcycle carryingManjare, Munni YusufHucchiwale and Shanaz,near Phalegaon crossroad.The Hingoli rural policehad registered a case fol-lowing a complaint byHucchiwale. The case wasinvestigated by PSI B KSanap.

In all, 13 witnesses wereexamined during the trial.Adv N S Mutkule acted aspublic prosecutor. He wasassisted by Adv N S Ghugeand Adv S K Gundale.
