This is Owl. I am the reporter for Country News.

There was a bad mistake made last week. PC Plod took

the wrong person to jail!

Here are the facts.

It all took place on the bridge to the meadow.

Troll lives under the bridge.

Troll LOVES football. He watches it very often on the TV. He is a BIG fan of

Duckpond United.

Three Billy-Goats Gruff live in the wood. They have run out

of food and are hungry.

The three goats decide to go over the bridge to get to the

meadow. There is lots of grass to eat in the meadow.

Troll is watching football. Duckpond United are playing Goose Wanderers. Troll’s team is losing!

The first Billy-Goat goes trip-trap, trip-trap, trip-trap

over the bridge.

Just at that moment, Goose Wanderers score a goal. Troll

leaps up! He is very upset.

Troll shouts at the TV.“We will gobble you up!” he cries,

waving his fists in the air.

Little Billy-Goat is terrified. “Don’t eat me,” she begs, “my brother is coming. He is much

bigger than me!”

Troll does not even see her. He goes back to watch the

football match.

The second Billy-Goat goes over the bridge, trip-trap,

trip-trap, trip-trap.

Just at that moment, Goose Wanderers score a second goal. Troll leaps up! He is very upset.

Troll yells at the TV.“We will gobble you up!” he

bellows, waving his fists in the air.

Middle-sized Billy-Goat is terrified.

“Don’t eat me,” he begs, “my brother is coming. He is much

bigger than me!”

Troll does not notice him at all. He goes back to

watch his football.

The third and biggest Billy-Goat goes trip-trap, trip-trap, trip-trap

over the bridge.

Just at that moment, Duckpond United score a goal. Troll is so happy that he leaps

right onto the bridge.

He is about to cheer really loudly when…

…“Oh no you don’t!” growls big Billy-Goat. And he puts down his

head and charges.

Goat tosses Troll right over the bridge and down the river.

Poor Troll does not know what has happened.

The Billy-Goats are very happy in the meadow. They tell PC Plod

that Troll tried to eat them!

PC Plod takes Troll to jail.

We think that the wrong man is in jail!
