This is the event most students look

forward to. And this time, we had

the honour of having the rest of

Ascend’s staff with us as well! It

was a Singapore themed lunch so

each class had to bring a local dish.

And what better way to end the

lunch by letting everyone have a

hand at making the local Teh Tarik (“Pulled Tea”).

It was fun and we were full. Thanks to all who participated!

On 24th September this year, Muslims in Singapore celebrate Hari Raya Haji, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice. During this period, they wear their finest clothes and go to the mosques to listen to sermons and pray. But the most important ritual observed is the 'korban' (sacrifice). Worshippers slaughter live sheep, lambs, goats and cows. The meat is then distributed to family, friends and the poor.. After this, Muslims visit families and friends, and relax over a meal together. source: http://www.yoursingapore.com/festivals-events-singapore/cultural-festivals/hari-raya-haji.html
