Nebraska Customized Job Training Advantage… Provides a flexible and discretionary job trainingprogram that will provide $15 million incustomized job training assistance designatedfor 2006 and 2007. You can design your owntraining, or a statewide training team can assistwith training needs assessments, training plans,curriculum development, and training instruction.

Nebraska Research and DevelopmentAdvantage… Offers a tax credit for research and developmentactivities undertaken by any business entity. Thecredit is equal to 3 percent of research anddevelopment expenditures that are greater thanthe average of the previous two years researchand development spending. An important feature-- businesses with little or no income may takeadvantage of the tax credit by receiving a salestax refund or a refundable income tax credit.

Nebraska Microenterprise Tax CreditAdvantage…Provides a 20 percent refundable investment taxcredit to micro businesses on new investment intargeted communities. Applicants may qualify fora maximum $10,000 throughout the life of theprogram. The credit is geared to companies withfive or fewer employees, including start-ups.Credits are approved through an applicationprocess with the Nebraska Department ofRevenue and evaluated on expected localeconomic impact. The credits would apply tonew expenditures for wages, buildings, and non-vehicle depreciable personal property.

Nebraska State and Local Sales TaxExemptions of Manufacturing Machinery,Equipment and Related Services…Exempts expenditures on manufacturing machinery, equipment, and related services from state and local sales taxes.

Inventory Tax Exemptions…Business inventories are exempt from propertyand inventory taxes.
