AVIATOR MENTORING PROGRAM(AMP)

Program Update

To capitalize on the vast and varied experiences of members of the Daedalians in order to:

Encourage young people to pursue careers as military aviators

Assist current military aviators in their career development and progression

AMP MISSION STATEMENT

1) The Order’s ranks contain many types of aviation-related experience and expertise. • Seasoned Aviators, plus a growing share of Young Aviators.

2) Our multi-generational membership offers different perspectives. • Multi-Service, Multi-Theater, Multi-Role… Experience!

3) Providing this resource to aspiring and serving aviators can make the Order even more RELEVANT to their careers.

To accomplish this mission the Foundation has established the following goals:To inspire young Americans to pursue careers as military aviators, via college scholarships and flying instruction.To perpetuate the spirit of patriotism, the love of country, and the high ideals of self-sacrifice exemplified by the American pilots of World War I in whose honor the Order of Daedalians was founded.To raise and invest funds to advance the Daedalian Foundation mission.

2018 Achievement vs. goalTotal donations: $195,083 to a budget of $232,000.The budget included a $45,000 Tex Hill fundraiser. The committee decided against the budgeted fundraiser because of potential donor fatigue. Investment income and other donations helped overcome the income shortfall.
