Hello World.

Portfolio 013

Nathalie Oprisand I’m currently studying Industrial Design at School of Design Pforzheim University

Hi, My name is

Nowadays, designers are in due to have a

holistic approach to their job because of the

growing issues concerning our so-

cial, economic and ecologic future.

Therefore, in all of my projects, I focus on the

whole production cycle by contemplating on

material, probable effects and semantics.

Analizing mechanisms and transitions and iden-

tifying social trends is one of my strengths,

which I always try to blend into my work.

I love experiments and metaphores, travel-

ling, music and visual compositions of all kinds.

Content

The band Beirut combines fragments

of folk music from the balcanic cul-

ture, with smooth electronic com-

ponents and maritime male choirs.

The arising atmosphere is one of

a melancholic, but solemn nature.

Bottles, ropes, ceramics are substantial

stylistic devices at this point.

“Design compact speakers

for a band of your choice.”

Beirut Speakers

Bringing archetypesto abstraction

The German audio-engineer Axel Ridtahl-

er is the inventor of the “Ripol” concept.

My goal was to integrate the system and

optimize the whole idea of this high-end

speaker system by adapting it to future liv-

ing conditions. Both speaker projects were

realized in the second term of 2012.

The Ripol concept refers to the

bass part of a high-end speaker

system. It consists of two chassis

instead of one. The chassis are

oriented towards each other.

This system achieves an artificial

amplification, sounds cleaner and

more natural. Specifically, the lis-

tener has to be positioned right

in front or behind the speaker.

_ for geniusAs a new interpretation of the

present working conditions “_for

genius” represents a fusion be-

tween working desk and suitcase.

The dynamic construction is de-

signed to be a useful item in the life

of architects and designers. It is made

out of formed wood and perspex.

The three-legged table is assem-

bled without using any screws.

The felt suitcase is portable, but

also part of the furnishing object.

The play between fragility and sta-

bility reflects the dynamics of

current manners of work.

Our Accessoire collection is avail-

able in our stores in Seoul and Tel Aviv.

Exhibitions and concerts in the stores

and cooperations with young artists are

our inspiration for further collections.

Our marketing concept aims to dissoci-

ate from customary “BRAND thinking”.

just because I love experiments.

Every action is integrated in my

It’s pretty simple. You can barely

find a better means of description

and expression, than photography.
