Somewhere in his wonderful book “African Philosophy and Religion”, Prof. Mbithi describes an ancient tribal belief according to which the spirits of the dead remain with the tribe as long as they are remembered. Had one asked Maria where she would have liked her spirit to remain, she would have answered: “On the polo pitch, with my ponies”.

That is why we play for this trophy.

Nel suo splendido libro “African Philosophy and Religion”, il Prof. Mbithi descrive un’antica credenza tribale, secondo cui gli spiriti dei trapassati rimangono con la tribù fino a che sono ricordati. Se qualcuno avesse chiesto a Maria dove le sarebbe piaciuto che il suo spirito rimanesse, lei avrebbe risposto: “Sul campo del polo, con i miei cavalli”.

Ecco perchè giochiamo per questo trofeo.
