What is myLife and myUnisa
myUnisa myLife
myUnisa is the official student
portal for students where you can
access your module resources,
submit assignments, interact with
other students and with your e-
tutor or group.
myLife is your official Unisa
email account for all
communication with Unisa and
your lecturers. Only email from
your myLife email address will be
accepted.
Activity 01: Claim your myUnisa account
• Get your password for myUnisa
• Access myUnisa for the first time.

your student number and

Note: Your personal information
needs to be entered as per the
info you entered on registration.

acknowledge all the information.
5. Write down your password to
log into myUnisa.
Note: The password is case
sensitive. Write down your
password for future use.

6. Fill in your student number as
User Name and Password
received and click login.
Note: Check your Caps Lock for
case sensitive passwords.

The new password will be
sent to you via an SMS

You should always ensure
that, prior to requesting a
new password, you have
your cell phone in your
possession and that your

corresponds with the one
you have registered and is
up to date with student
administration.
The myUnisa Interface
The More Sites menu lists
all your modules, groups
and e-tutor sites.
Note: COS2621 has
an official module
site and a e-tutor site
with the 1E referring to
the group number.

This is the lecture official
module site
eg. COS3701-17-S1
(Read as COS3701
registered in 2017 [17] in
semester 1 [S1].
In module site the
lectures has control of
and it is where you can
access your official
study material, submit
assignment etc.
This is the e-tutor official
site that you can use to
communicate with your
e-tutor and students
allocated to your group.
Some modules, such as
EUP1501, have group
sites where students are
divided into groups, with
each student having
unique assignments.
The group site will also
be your e-tutor site.

Signature Modules
What are signature modules?
Signature modules were specially developed at UNISA, are taught fully
online and have the support of Teaching Assistants (e-tutors) to help
the students in small groups.

1. Select the number of questions your
assignment consist of as per your
tutorial letter.
2. Click Continue
3. On the form, select your answers (e.g if
your answer for question 1 is option 3, select
button 3 that corresponds to question 1).
4. Click Continue on completion.
Note: If you wish to start over, click on Clear
Form and make the selections again.

will be stipulated in your Tutorial Letter 101. If none then select

myUnisa is 10MB.

reduce the size of your
Assignment PDF.

• Write a post to introduce yourself to the lecturer / e-
tutor and other students.

and enter an introductory message.

• Send a email to the student on your right-hand side.
1. Click on New to open the new
message panel.

the text area.

Bonus Activity: Automatic Email Forwarding
• Automatically forward your emails to your existing
email address.
1. Click on Gear Icon to open the
settings menu.
