The design for the Prana Fazenda House is a vacation residence intended for the resort town of Campos do Jordao, which is few hours’ drive from Sao Paulo, Brazil’s most populated metropolis. The area is known for is green mountains and its temperate weather. In the design I challenge the conventional make up of residential architecture by altering the traditions of residential layouts and integrating a contemporary edifice in to a dramatic landscape.

Hostel 13 is a unique hospitality concept where the design problem requires an inventive solution geared toward young people. Located in the internationally famous South Beach, the design rearranges historic qualities of art deco architecture to create a contemporary hostel which fit within a historic, yet modern district. The guiding concept was propelled by Miami Beach’s past as a coconut grove by alluding and deconstructing proper palm grove formations. The building is a stylistic compendium of art deco and emulates precedent urban conditions and fits within the character of Miami Beach.

The new Hispanic Cultural Center is a contemporary addition to the Audubon Terrace Historic District. The challenge of this project was to provide a cultural space which was au courant, related to the existing Beaux Arts complex, and alludes to the Hispanic cultural diaspora. The design is a synthesized interpretation of an Afro-Latin architectural typology. The concept is drawn from the complex and varied heritage of the New York Hispanic.

This bold design for Downtown Providence was derived from the meeting of the Moshassuck, Woonasquatucket, and Providence Rivers. The dramatic geography, just blocks from the site, provided inspiration for a new tectonic form which then became architecture. This project was an effort to emulate natural forms with concrete and steel, in a fashion which adheres to the context of the urban surrounding which provides a civic center for Providence. The design addresses several complex challenges in combine drastically different program in a specific site.

The design of the Chalks Seaplane Terminal is intended to be an iconic gesture in the center of Miami. The project is on Watson Island, near the center of downtown and directly across the busiest cruise port in the world. The design renders flight and movement in three dimensions and offers a new passenger terminal typology as a civic landmark. In this project the conventions of terminal design have been uprooted to where aircrafts becomes the focus of a sinuous structure.
