MyCapeTown–OurCapeTown!Afterlookingforwardtoitfornearly12monthsIwassittinginaDreamlinerfromAmsterdamtoCapeTowntheSaturdaybevorthestartoftheAGM.Afteralongdayintheairandsomesleepthatnight,theadventurestarted.The4dayPre-TourthatwouldbeshowingtheGardenRouteto29LadiesfromalloverEurope.Wesawalot,beitlandscapeoranimals,enjoyedsunaswellasrain(moreofthefirstthanthelast),hadagreattourguideandalotoffunintheevenings.NowthepeopleinKnysnaandinOudtshoornknow,whatitmeansifLadiestravel.Lastbutdefinitelynotleastforallofusthesong„It’srainingmen“willhavealotofmemoriesfortherestofourlives.

ThenafterthesegreatfourdayswearrivedinCapeTown–andstartedtomakeitourCapeTown!AfteratouraroundtheCityinthemorning,theconferencefinallystartedwiththewelcomeceremonyandparade.Whatagreatvenuetodoit,thesamebuildingfromwhereNelsonMandeladidhisfirstspeechinfreedom.Andwithachildren’schoirthatmovedeverylivingsoulintheauditorium.

ThenexttwodayswentwiththespeedoflightningundertheimpressionoftheAGM,thehomepartyandtheGala…Thespiritofeverybodywasmovinganditwasgreattoseethateverybody,nomatterwheresheisfromandwhatbackgroundshehasisjustpartofonefamilyandthereforeeverybodycanenjoythemselves.ThenafteranotherdayofseeingtheCape,thepenguinsandtastingsomewhineitwastimetogobacktogoodoldEurope.
