OnepossibleexplanationforthedeclineoftheFTESduring2012-13isrelatedtotheintroductionofDr.Maz(commercialmusic)andDr.Mayfield(musictheory)asfaculty.Dr.Mazreportedthatmanystudentswhohadintendedtoenrollincommercialmusiccoursesdecidedtodroponcetheylearnedthatthepreviousprofessorwasnolongerteachingthecourses.Dr.Mayfieldalsoreportedthatheradvancedtheoryclasseshadextremelylowenrollmentandthatmanystudentsoptednottotaketheadvancedclassesafterdiscoveringthattheworkloadwouldbesignificantlymorethananticipated.
