The month of March has officially been designated by the NationalAssocia tion for Music Education as Music in Our Schools Month - when
music education becomes the focus of s chools nationwide. This yearstheme is Music Lasts a Lifetime.
Performing in honor of Music In Our Schools Month during the March 27 School Boardmeeting were the Stone Bridge High School Jazz Choir and Loudoun County High SchoolsGuitar Quartet.

About the program
Music in our Schools Month began as a single statewide celebration in 1973, and has grownover the decades to become a month-long celebration of school music. The purpose of it is toraise aw areness of the importance of music education for a ll children. It reminds citizens thatschool is where all children should have access to music. The month-long program is anopportunity for music teachers to bring their music programs to the attention of the schooland the community. It also displays the benefits music in schools brings to students.
