REGIONAL MUSEUMIn 1945 was founded as a city museum, but in 1950 it

obtained the status of the Regional Museum

Its headquarters is Rákoci palace, whose history is closely

linked with the history of the city

The museum preserves and presents the archaeological,

historical, ethnographic, art-historical and scientific

collections

On the ground floor of the palace are Rákoci chamber

museum exhibit space for mounting temporary exhibitions,

the floor still thematic exposition.

JEWISH MUSEUM

The Jewish Museum in Presov came into being in 1928, the

first of its kind in Slovakia

 Head of geological community, Mr. Eugen Bárkány, and son

of famous rabbi of Presov, Dr. Teodor Austerlitz had been

major contributors to building-up of said Museum and to

accumulation of its exhibits.

MUSEUM OF WINES

The museum's 500 sq m exhibition occupies two floors of

the historical 500-year-old cellars under the Prešov Town

Hall

It consists mainly of bottled wines from all corners of the

world

The collection currently includes more than 2000 types of

wine

Visitors are guided by qualified experts, who can speak at

least one international language.

SALT RAFINERY

 The object of the mining rock salt and brine pumping saltworks

in particular Leopold shaft, Cetera (brine reservoirs), smelter,

cooking, salt storage (chambers), forge and knocker (TURN).

They transported the salt from Varna to store on rails in small

wooden carts.

 Basically it was the most impressive architectural structure of

the entire complex. 

Burned down on 18 May 1986.
