III. Meter Signatures (8 pts.) Analyze the meter signatures by labeling their type, and write one full measure of BEATS (stems up) and DIVISIONS (stems down). (8)

IV. Triads and Seventh Chords (30 pts.) A) Write the chords as indicated from the given ROOT. (10)

B) Label the chords by root name, indicating the quality (e.g. G, g, G+, go, GM7, G7, g7, gø7, go7),

and include bass figures for inverted chords as necessary. (20)

V. Error Detection (10 pts.) Mark and identify one SPECIFIC partwriting error in each two-chord group. Check for errors in: chord spelling, chord spacing, awkward melodic intervals, parallel perfect intervals, resolution of tendency tones

VI. Non-Chord Tones (36 pts.) Write the two-chord groups in four voices, adding the indicated NCT in an appropriate voice.

VII. Figured Bass (35 pts.) Write the two chord groups in four voices as indicated by the bass notes and figures. Label all chords by root name, indicating quality in your label (i.e. “B” for B major, “b” for b minor, etc.).

VIII. Chorale Analysis (21 pts.) Label all chords by root name, indicating quality and inversion (where necessary). Circle and label all non-chord tones, using abbreviations for the type (e.g. “p” for passing tone, etc.). Circle ONLY NCT’s (do NOT circle chord tones), and be sure to label any suspension bass figures BENEATH the staff with the chord name.
