THE KNOWLEDGE IS ASSESSED …
Through self-evaluation questions of multiple-choice (MCQ) and
True/False types
Each Unit covers a set of 30 questions
The filled in set of questions / per Unit is weighted by the e-
programme software
On the basis of the results achieved estimation of the level of
knowledge is provided:
o > 60 % true answers – the result is ‘PASSED’
o < 60 % true answers – the result is ‘FAILED’

THE FEW STEPS BEFORE TO START …
To use and learn from VET-InTech programme you can run it on any
web browser supporting Unicode, JavaScript and CSS (Explorer 6+,
Firefox 1.5+, Opera 8+, Google Chrome 1+, and Safari 3+). The web
address is http://vetintech-training.com/
The e-programme is available in English, German, Italian, Bulgarian, and
Czech languages and one can switch between them through the
language (flags) buttons situated at the right upper corner of the home
page.
The e-programme can be started by login (through automatically

side on the home page (Fig. 1). The different sections of the site (e-
Curriculum; Learning Pathways, Short Intensive Courses, Glossary)
are also accessible through the links situated at the upper site menu.

When the login is successful, the window presented in Fig. 2 will be
displayed on your computer. Here, you have either an access to the full
content of the e-guide (through the button ‘Contents’) or a possibility to
choose among the various LPs (through the button ‘Learning Pathways’)
and SICs (through the button ‘Short Intensive Courses’).
Fig. 2. Login page of the training programme
A click on the button ‘Contents’ will open a detailed index of the Modules
/ Parts / Units / Lessons comprising the entire e-guide (Fig. 3). The
learning content of each Lesson is accessible by clicking on its title (Fig.
4).

This is the algorithm to follow if you chose to browse the learning content
at random or to cover the entire e-curriculum in a consequent way.
However, if you decide to study a particular Learning Pathway or Short
Intensive Course, you can take one of the LPs or SICs via the links to the
buttons ‘Learning Pathways’ and ‘Short Intensive Courses’ (Fig. 2).
Desired LP or SIC can be chosen by clicking on its number.
Each LP / SIC begins with general information – a brief summary of its
content. Through the button ‘To LP X>’ situated at the bottom of the LP
general information page you can obtain useful data about the target
economic sectors, end-users and target groups it is prepared for. At the
same page the learning outcomes of the LP, presented as Knowledge,
LLP-LdV-TOI-2008-1-BG1-LEO 05 -00433

Skills and Wider Competence (Fig. 5) are situated. The length / duration
and the credit points a trainee will gain upon successful completion of the
LP are specified as well.

Module 1, Part 1.1., Unit 1.1.3., lesson 1.1.3.3.: ‘635 Method’
You can access the content of a certain LP / SIC through clicking on the
title of the Lessons it is composed of, listed in ‘Knowledge component’ or
through the left LP / SIC menu (Fig. 6).
The LP / SIC contents helps you to easily browse within the material
‘jumping’ when you need more detailed or related information.

The core learning material is structured in the following hierarchical
order: Lesson Topic Subtopic. It is described by the following
compulsory elements:
- Lesson author(s)
- Learning goals
- Learning workload
- Summary of the lesson
- Key words

The learning material finishes with a ‘Bibliography’ and ‘Additional
information’ sections that provide list of useful references on the
lecture’s topics.
A ‘Self-assessment questions’ section, which offers the trainees the
possibility for self evaluation of their learning progress, applying MCQs,
is the final element of each unit. This section is accessible through the
link ‘Unit self assessment’ in the contents of the course. Upon clicking on
this link a quiz composed of 10 items chosen at random by the software
of the programme within a pool of 15 – 135 questions is generated. Upon
completion of the quiz and submitting your answer, you will see your
results (as percentage right/wrong answers) as well as all the correct
answers (Fig. 7).

Another advantage of the presentation of the learning content is the
availability of an interactive glossary that contains key terms within the
programme specific field. Each glossary word in the text is colored in
blue and underlined with a dashed underline (Fig. 8A); it turns green

when pointed with the mouse (Fig. 8B) and meanwhile its corresponding
explanation appears in a tooltip (Fig. 8C). Upon clicking of the word the
‘Glossary’ section opens in a new window and the definition of the term
appears (Fig. 8D).

The full content of the ‘Glossary’ section in BG, CZ, DE, EN and IT
languages is accessible as well through the button ‘Glossary’ in the main
left-side menu of the programme (Fig. 2).
Besides the LPs and SICs currently accessible by a trainee, the e-
programme offers the possibility to create new LPs/SICs upon demand
of the end-users, using the whole pool of lessons (a total of 41) included
in the programme, making the product more market oriented, and
establishing the full capacity of the programme in the view point of
specific content and level of initial knowledge of the trainees.
