Graduation Requirements:
• 4 Core Courses (Compulsory)
• 10 Courses or 8 Courses and a dissertation (GPA 4.0+)
• Minimum GPA 2.50
In a Nutshell

• Overseas lecturers | mostly intensive over 2 weeks
• Local lecturers | less intensive, could be over 13 weeks

• 8 Courses + Dissertation (instead of 10 courses)
• CGPA must be 4.0+
• 12 AUs (4 courses) completed
• Working with a professor on a research topic
• Early intention and getting prepared
• In 2018/19, Two students opt for dissertation.

• “No pain, no gain” | You must study for graduation.
• MSc Program will need time commitment.
• Part time students need to communicate with their
employers regarding time commitment. That is student’s
responsibility.
• Lectures may be video recorded (no promise).

NOTES & TIPS
• You must review lectures regularly. Please create a study
plan with weekly time commitment (particularly Part-Time
students).
• You must participate class discussion. There is no
excuse for ‘no response’. Lecturers will take into account
your participation directly or indirectly. Class discussion,
commenting, sharing opinion and being outspoken are
part of this learning experience.
• Read some fundamental books | Do not wait lecturer to
tell you this
• Be ‘Agile Learner’ | Take risks and challenge status quo

NOTES & TIPS
• During courses, you may be required to prepare written
assignments and to make class presentations. Please
google it and learn how to write a class assignment and
how to prepare a class presentation if you are not familiar
with. This program does not teach such skills, we
assume you have them.
– Do not use clipart on slides
– Do not just read text, always keep eye contact with audience
– Do not fill your slides with text (minimum text)
– Learn finding DOCX/PPT templates on web
– Be professional in presentations

• Learn using NTU Library resources, e-books, searching for
journal papers
• Learn using Google Scholar
• One of objectives of an MSc Program is to improve your
accessibility to academic knowledge through academic
resources.
• Interested in market analysis, data collection | NTU Business
Library has Bloomberg Terminal (reservation is needed).
• Frequently visit maritime news media (keep up-to-date)
