COINS

• A penny is copper and worth $0.01 one cent to the dollar.

• A nickel is silver and worth$0.05 five cents to the dollar.

COINS

• A dime is silver and worth $0.10 ten cents to the dollar.

• A quarter is silver and worth $.025 cents to the dollar or 1/4th of a dollar.

BILLS

• The dollar Bill which is equal to one hundred pennies 100, twenty nickels 20, ten dimes 10, or four quarters 4• The two dollar bill which is equal to two one dollar bills • The five dollar bill which is equal to five one dollar bills

BILLS

• The ten dollar bill which is equal to ten one dollar bills or two five dollar bills.• The twenty dollar bill which is equal to twenty one dollar bills, four five dollar bills or two ten dollar bills

DIFFERENT COMBINATIONS OF COINS EQUAL THE SAME AMOUNT OF MONEY.

(ADDING)

• Coins can be used together various combinations to come up with the same amount of money.• For example were trying to come up with $0.25 which is a quarter. We can use twenty five pennies, twenty pennies and one nickel, fifteen pennies and two nickels, two dimes and a nickel and many more combinations.

DIFFERENT COMBINATIONS OF BILLS THAT EQUAL THE SAME AMOUNT OF MONEY

• As with coins there are many different combinations of bills to equal the same amount of money. • Example you want to make $20 you can have twenty one dollar bills, fifteen one dollar bills and one five dollar bill, a ten dollar bill and two five dollar bills, a ten dollar bill a five dollar bill and five one dollar bills and so on.
