Mobile Science Museum

Bringing Science to child care on the Eastern Shore of Maryland

The Lower Shore Child Care Resource Center’s Mobile Science Museum first “rolled” out at the Salisbury

Festival. Since that time, the program has begun to visit child care programs in the three lower counties,

presenting mini science lessons and hands on science fun to preschool children and their teachers.

The program also presents trainings to child care providers in the area of early childhood science.

Salisbury University Early Education students will assist the program throughout the academic year.

Funding was made possible with grants from the PNC Foundation and the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore

The Mobile Science Museum Hit the Road in the late spring of 2009!

Making bubbles at the Salisbury Festival.

How big can you make a bubble?

Our visit to Tender Heart Child Care.

Making a bubble wall takes patience!

How does that Flip Flop- A Phone work? .

We explored sound waves!

We had a “ball” learning about gravity!

One was much heavier, but they landed at the same time? Amazing!

Learning about air and gravity was fun!

We learned about air pressure!

We could hear each other, even if we whispered!

We even learned about simple tools! We like to measure things!
