Missouri is a center for automotive manufacturing ex-cellence, supported by a cost-competitive, pro-business and innovative environment. In 2018, Missouri automo-tive manufacturers built more than 776,000 vehicles, and since 2010 more than 2.5 billion has been invested in Missouri’s automotive facilities.
Every Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon, Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana is born in Missouri. Many of the Ford Transit vans and more than 300,000 Ford F-150s are made here.
According to a 2013 study from the Brookings institu-tion, Kansas City is the second-largest U.S. automotive hub behind Detroit.

Income tax allocationAn important tax advantage for Missouri businesses is the amount of income considered taxable as only income earned in Missouri is taxed. And, in 2020, Missouri’s corporate income tax rate will drop to 4 percent, making us one of the best states in the U.S.
In addition, it is important to note that Missouri has not adopted worldwide or nationwide unitary tax assess-ment in computing multinational corporate income tax liability.
Certified SitesMissouri’s Certified Sites Program also reduces your risk by ensuring there has already been a compre-hensive review of items including the availability of utilities, site access, environmental concerns, land use conformance, and potential site development costs. Having a site “certified” reduces the risk associated with development of particular sites by providing up front and consistent information. Additionally, Missouri’s 50+ years of a AAA bond rating is representative of our solid financial acumen and stable financial foundations.
