Children’s Ministry13th ANNUAL SWEETHEART BALL

All 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade girls and their favorite “Father” are invited to the Sweetheart Ball on Friday, May 3, 7:00–9:00pm in Fellowship Hall. Dessert buffet is provided; cost is $10 per couple, payable at the door; dress is Sunday attire. Educational Ministries, Tim LeslieJOINING A NEW DENOMINATION: WHAT DOES IT MEAN FOR US? APRIL 28 & MAY 5

Calling all Elders and Deacons formerly ordained in the PCUSA or other Presbyterian denomination! Orientation to a new Theology in the ECO’s “Essential Tenets” of the Faith and a new Polity is essential for you as you serve here at FPC. Classes on these subjects are coming soon in Harper Chapel at both Sunday School hours. On Sunday, April 28, Tim Leslie will bring orientation to the new Polity book of the ECO. The following week, Sunday, May 5, Brian Stewart will bring orientation to the new Theological statement called the “Essential Tenets of the ECO.” The Session strongly recommends that all those in the College of Elders and the College of Deacons attend. We’ll also welcome anyone else who is interested. We promise not to bore you!

Evangelism and Missions, Brian StewartGRAINS OF GRACE WEEKEND IS HERE!

On April 19-20, FPC will pack 250,000 meals for the hungry in the developing world. Please contribute to support the cost of this initiative. As of April 15, we have received $40,375 toward our goal of $55,000. Write checks to FPC, earmarked Grains of Grace.

SUMMER BOOKS FOR HOLLIS STUDENTSWe are collecting new books to send home with the Hollis students for the summer. Please consider purchasing paperback books from the list at FirstPresGreenville.org/missionsandoutreach.htm, and place them in the Hollis bins by Wednesday, May 15. NEIGHBORHOOD FOCUS SUMMER ENRICHMENTNeighborhood Focus is taking 100 at-risk kids on an amazing journey through the Bible in the 2013 Summer Enrichment Program (SEP). Through SEP 2013, they’ll discover that God’s BIG STORY is all about God’s BIG LOVE. Because of your faithful support, SEP has a rich legacy of amazing impact on our children, students, parents, and summer staff. Please prayerfully consider supporting the needs of this vital program. Mother’s Morning Out Ministry, Tina JonesREGISTER NOW FOR SUMMER BIBLE CAMP

Mother’s Morning Out offers up to five weeks of summer camp for infants through rising 1st graders. From music to games to hands-on Bible adventures, children are taught Bible points all day long in fun, active ways! Summer Bible Camp is offered June 18–July 25, 9:00am–2:00pm, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. On Sunday, May 5, our annual Children’s Musical will be A Technicolor Promise by Allen Pote. This retelling of the story of Noah will feature our Carol and Covenant Choirs. Join us at 7:00pm in the Block (on West Washington Street across Academy Street from the church). Admission is only $5 per person.

The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper (gluten-free) will be observed on Tuesday evening, April 30, at 7:00pm in Harper Chapel during the Tuesday evening Service of Prayer for Healing.

YOUTH SUNDAY & BBQ FUNDRAISER APRIL 21On Youth Sunday, April 21, students will be participating in our worship services and receiving an offering for missions. Our traditional services will feature Robert Ray’s Gospel Mass presented by Youth Choirs Resonate! and Resonate! Prime. After worship, join us in the Gym for delicious barbecue and fellowship, 12:00–1:30pm. Cost is $5 per person ($25 family maximum). Take-out meals will be available. All proceeds will support the Junior and Senior High July Mission Trip to New Orleans.

Women’s MinistryWOMEN’S DESSERT SOCIAL APRIL 25

The Women’s Ministry Dessert Social on Thursday, April 25, at 6:30pm in Fellowship Hall, will feature Ruth McWhite, Director of Women’s Ministry at North Greenville University, speaking on “Living Intentionally.” You’ll enjoy coffee and desserts from Brick Street Cafe and gluten-free cake from Coffee to a Tea.
