E-CATClarifier-ThickenerThe EIMCOE-CATTMClarifier-
Thickener streamlines liquid-solid
separation flowsheets by combining
optimized flocculation, high-rate clari-
fication and high-density thickening in
a single compact unit with no moving
parts. The E-CATTMClarifiers deep
tank and steep compaction cone con-
centrate settled solids, while annular
rows of clarifying cylinders aggregate
and remove fine suspended solids from
the overflow liquor. An internal cone/pipe system rapidly channels free water
to the feedwell for influent dilution.
Sizesfrom 2m diameter x 7.7m height
to 12m diameter x 16m height.

Paste Thickeners optimize flocculation
and enhance settled solids compression
for maximum underflow slurry solids
and minimum thickener footprint. Deep
ConeTMunits accommodate up to 20
times the solid mass flow and 10 times
the volumetric loading of conventional
thickeners. Their deep tank design
maximizes pulp concentration, and
produces uniform, non-segregating,
paste consistency underflow slurry.
Deep ConeTMPaste Thickening
Applications:
Coarse or fine tails
CCD circuits - superior washing
Base metals
Phosphate slimes
Diamond slimes

E-DUCFeed Dilution SystemE-DUC
feed dilution systems boost
settling rates and dramatically reduce
polymer consumption by diluting
thickener feed slurry with clarified
supernatant. No pumps are required for
diluting liquor circulation and influentenergy is utilized for polymer mixing,
eliminating all moving parts. The
improved settling efficiency reduces
overflow liquor solids, increases
underflow slurry density, and reduces
polymer consumption by up to 60
percent. Retrofits available for most
conventional thickeners.

PyramidFlotation ColumnsPyramidTMflotation columns deliver high
recoveries and grades, reduce reagent
consumption, decrease maintenancecosts and lower capital expense. The
keys to success are as follows:
Design:First and foremost, the appropri-
ate number, size and layouts of flotation
columns is accomplished by applying
the critical design parameters and work-
ing with our customers to optimize the
layout of the system. EIMCOs high
level of experience can guide our cus-
tomers through this step.
KnowledgeScapeprocess control soft-
ware allows engineers to maximize the
economic gain of virtually any process-
ing or manufacturing operation.
KnowledgeScapesoftware is the first
real-time optimization system that actu-
ally learns process dynamics and adjusts
process setpoints to achieve a true opti-
mal operating regime. This is the first
expert system operating shell ever tocohesively integrate several different
artificial technologies in a common
wrapper. The KnowledgeScapesoft-
ware has met with huge successes as a
result of the unique synergy created by
combining such tools as fuzzy logic,
neural networks and genetic algorithms.
Installations worldwide have experi-
enced large productivity increases and
almost immediate return on investment.
The KnowledgeScapesoftware is avail-
able as a retrofit system for controlling
individual unit operations or for plant-
wide optimization. All EIMCO equip-
ment can be provided with embedded

Sparger Selection:For the heart of
the column, EIMCO Process offers the
RateMaxsupersonic sparger system
which is designed for maximum
operational flexibility and minimum
maintenance.
Operation:Proper feed conditioning and
selection of column flotation operatingparameters such as froth depth, aeration
rate and washwater flow rate can make
or break a column installation.
Benefits of PyramidTMColumns:
Improve hydrodynamic conditions
for improved flotation separation
Wear-resistant sparger nozzles
On-line sparger maintenance
No down time!
Reduced capital costs
PyramidColumns Sparger & DesignEIMCOs latest generation column
flotation sparger system, the RateMax
supersonic sparger system provides in-
credible opportunities to both improve
performance and increase operational
flexibility as well as decrease mainte-
nance requirements. The exit velocity of
the gas leaving a RateMaxnozzle is
about 50% greater than a standard col-
umn sparger nozzle, which translates
into smaller bubbles being formed. The
net result is that the bubble surface area
flux rate, Sb, is as much as 50% higher
than traditional sparger designs. Some
of the features and benefits of the
RateMaxsparger include a simple,ro-
bust design constructed of wear and
chemical resistant ceramics, easy on-line
maintenance of the system and the abil-
ity to easily retrofit any column installa-
tion. Combined with our ACDSM
(Auto-
mated Column Designer), engineering
and design services, EIMCO has a
potent combination of both technology
and tools to assist any user of column
flotation technology.
WEMCOAgitairFlotation CellsAgitairflotation cells offer fine process
control through low-pressure forced aer-
ation with individual valves controlling
air supply to each bank and cell. Mixing
and air diffusion are achieved through
the use of hollow-shaft impellers and
floor-mounted stabilizer. Several impel-
ler and stabilizer configurations are
available to accommodate various cell
and process requirements. Agitair
cells provide excellent performance
in cleaner circuits.

Granular Media FiltersEIMCO manufactures pressure and
gravity feed granular media filters for
minerals applications such as pregnant
solution filtration in SX/EW circuits. All
filters use Flexscourunderdrains, which
have been designed for efficient media
utilization and uniform distribution
of simultaneous air scour and waterbackwashes for effective bed cleaning.
Flexscourlaterals are partitioned to
separate air and water flows, allowing
the underdrain to be cleaned in place by
internally circulating high temperature
wash water. All underdrain components
are manufactured of stainless steel
for a completely corrosion-resistant
installation.
Pressure vessels are fabricated to ASME
code VIII. Filter vessels are available in
full stainless steel construction. Gravity
feed filters are also available in FRPconstruction. EIMCOfilters are avail-
able in complete shop-fabricated, skid-
mounted modules with all required in-
strumentation and controls.
WEMCOPacesetter
Oil/Water SeparatorsThe WEMCO Pacesetteroil/water
separator has become the standard in
SX-EW applications for separating aque-
ous and organic streams. The Pacesetter
separator uses a unique, two-stage pro-
cess to effectively recover entrained
organic from either raffinate or electro-lyte or to remove entrained aqueous
from organic streams. First, influent
energy is diffused by a coalescer pack
causing small droplets to collide and
form larger ones. This is followed by a
separator pack that provides separate
surfaces and flow paths for aqueous
and organic streams thus preventing
re-entrainment. The packs are inclined
at 60 degrees to enhance solids removal.
The WEMCOPacesetteroil/water sep-
arator is designed to handle a wide vari-
ety of influent entrainment concentra-tions as well as upset conditions and
crud runs.
Pacesetteroil/water separators are engi-
neered in a range of sizes and can be
supplied in a variety of materials of
construction such as stainless steels or
FRP. Start-up and operation are simple
and reliable with little operator attention
and maintenance required.

subsequent treatment processes such as
glass sand preparation and flotation.
Powerful attrition action is created by
particles abrading against each other in
a thick, high-density pulp as it moves
through a series of octagonal cells. Each
cell is equipped with a separate motor
driven impeller with three sets of
alternating pitch blades. The resulting

ClassifiersWEMCOSpiral Classifiers provide
continuous wet classification, washing,
dewatering or desliming. Fines and low-
density materials overflow the tank weir
while coarse, fast-settling particles are
removed and dewatered by the turning
spiral. Large diameter tubular shafts and
short, cast flight arms carry heavy loads
with minimal deflection. A simple lifting
device permits easy start-up after shut-
down or power interruption. Replaceable
wear shoes and tank liners simplifymaintenance and ensure long service life.

solid separations using a separating medium whose specific
gravity lies between those of the substances to be separated.
Sharp separations are achieved in the specific gravity range
of 1.25 - 3.8, at feed capacities of up to 820 metric or 900 short
tons per hour. WEMCODrum Separators are designed to
handle abrasive materials in the size range between 6 - 300 mm
(1/4" - 12"). Single and dual gravity machines are available,
designed for low maintenance and service lifetimes of 15
years or more.
Capacities:to 820 metric or 900 short tons/hour.
WEMCOHMS Cone SeparatorsWEMCOCone Separators handle separations where only
slight gravimetric differences exist between sink and float
product, and where retention time is critical. Ample area-volume
ratio permits sharp separations at high capacities, in feed particle
sizes from 1.5 - 75mm (10 mesh - 3").
