Tips on writing a winning submission

Jared Pedersen

Tips for Success?• Put enough time and energy into your

submission• Remember the competency requirement• Put all your wood behind your strongest arrow

rather than taking the ‘spray and pray’ approach. One really good submission beats 3 mediocre submissions. Focus your time.

• Talk to and involve your customer. Let them know you are submitting their solution for an award.

• Include customer evidence. Make sure the customer is referencable. Highlight the Voice of the Customer.

Plan for success

• Plan for and set a clear award objective• Identify your winning entry early in the year

and create and deploy it as an industry best-in-class

• Consider NZ local award submission followed by entry into the Microsoft Global Partner Award program—see www.digitalwpc.com

What are the judges looking for?• Your solution’s uniqueness or creativity• Measurable outcomes and the business impact

of your solution on the customer• How you integrated Microsoft Technology • Why it was better suited when compared with

the competition• The marketability of your solution• The professional look of your submission is

important
