140 Series Joint Covers are intended for use with hardboard and cement siding. The Joint Covers protect the butt joint where two siding planks meet and providean expansion joint to help prevent siding buckling. A wraparound lower lip hooksthe siding and requires one nail to hold it in place. 0.016” aluminum covers areprimed on the outside and ready to paint and coated for full protection on theinside. They are manufactured with either a smooth or wood grained texture andare available in lengths and return lip widths to fit all major brands of hardboardand cement fiber siding, including most profiled 12” and 16” shapes (see additionalpage for details). Face width is 13/16”.
140 Series Retrofit Joint Covers are also available for use typically after sidinginstallation has been completed and the seams open up, or the siding wasinstalled with too large of a gap at the seam to be covered by the regular jointcovers. Retrofit joint covers do not have the rib on the back, so they are moreflexible and will need fastening to keep the part in place. These joint covers arewider than the regular parts. Retrofit joint covers are not typically stocked, but aremade in a wide variety of styles, widths, finishes and lengths. Please contact the
