FILBERT’SCLASSROOM
WELCOME
REMEMBER, IT’S A DEMOCRACY, BUT I HAVE 51% OF THE VOTE.”
-SUE THORSON
THE FINE PRINT
I ____________________________________ , hereby agree to try my very hardest in this
class. I will show up on time and leave on time. I will remember to bring any materials that will be needed for class. I will have a good attitude even if I’m having a bad day. I will be nice to my classmates, my teacher, the classroom, and
my quizzes even if I fail them. I will stay awake during class, I will stay awake during class, I
WILL stay awake during class (just keep telling yourself that). I will try not to cough or sneeze
on anyone. I will only take a bathroom pass when I need to go to the bathroom, and
whenever possible, I will go to the bathroom before class. I will only text in class if it’s extremely important. I will not IM in class
unless the teacher is being so boring that it is making me want to scream. I realize that life does not revolve around this class, but I will attempt to complete all of my homework on
time. I will not use derogatory terms. I know that I can express my thoughts and ideas
without offending those around me, and I will strive to do that. I know that if I fail this class, I
will only need to take it again next semester/year. I will open all bags of chips BEFORE
class starts. I will remember to put my phone on silent, or risk being horribly embarrassed
when the teacher tells my boyfriend to call back later. I will not plagiarize no matter how tired, sick, lazy, uninterested, bored, angry, stressed, or unintelligent I feel. I will have fun. I will learn or, at the very least, I will memorize! I will enjoy class as much as I can. I will help
others to enjoy it. I will accept everyone, even if they are drastically different from myself. I
will not leave gum under the desks or anywhere else inappropriate. I will strive to make my
handwriting legible if I want to receive a grade. I will pass this class.
