Dear MCPs current and elect, Welcome to International President’s meeting. I want you to imagine you are a kid again, and I will tell you a story of my IPMs. Chapter 1: IPM 2010, Tunisia - “Hi, my name is Rolf” My name is Rolf and I am newly elected MCP of AIESEC in Norway. I have never met AI and don’t understand much what they do. I just voted for a guy called Hugo to be my PAI. He told us a story of allowing ourselves to be kids, to dream, to learn to fail. AI launched the D.R.E.A.M process of creating AIESEC 2015. Chapter 2: IPM 2011, Mexico - “My final contribution?” I came to IPM in Mexico already decided that I would leave AIESEC after my MCP term. I spent the conference designing the AIESEC Experience that could deliver AIESEC 2015. We designed collaborative programmes which developed responsible and entrepreneurial leadership and which would allow us to grow our physical and virtual reach - we called them GIP, GCDP, TMP and TLP. Tanya was elected PAI. She highlighted the scale we needed to reach to become the AIESEC of 2015. Chapter 3: IPM 2012, Hungary - “Part of the global team” I have been on AI for 8 months and for sure it was easier to talk about AIESEC 2015 than to lead it. We reconfirmed that Engagement with AIESEC is in order to deliver more ELD experiences and that the AIESEC Way guides how we understand AIESEC 2015 and not the other way around. Florent was elected PAI. He spoke about the clarity of the why of our core beliefs we needed in order to become the organisation we were dreaming of.
Chapter 4: IPM 2013, Serbia - “President of AIESEC International” Did you ever have an out of body experience? Suddenly I found myself running for President of AIESEC International - I mean - who does that? I realised that my belief in AIESEC and the promise of 2015 gave me courage, excitement, and the sense of responsibility to take this step. We launched NPS as a global MoS to focus on the satisfaction of the experiences we were delivering and how it contributes to our growth in impact and scale. Chapter 5: IPM 2014, Mainland China - “Own our Promise; Break Through Limits” In Mainland China we took the steps needed to finally break through our limits as an organisation. We took the biggest decision of our generation - to own our promise - We will achieve AIESEC 2015 - and 120 entities and AI built a global plan of the experiences we want to deliver - together. It changed the way we run AIESEC. We decided that we stay true to our values and belief and choose to be inspired rather than pressured by our ambition for Big AIESEC. We became Generation 2015. Welcome to IPM 2014. What is the story you will tell your children about this IPM? This guide is made to prepare you for that journey. Please take the expectations set seriously - it is our chance to lead this global organisation together. You are invited to Own our Promise and Break through limits Yours, Rolf ps. MCPs bring your piece of rope!
4 years ago, AIESECers just like us came together to dream Big and create an AIESEC capable of truly changing the world. They looked at the best parts of AIESEC and imagined what AIESEC could become if we massively increased our scale of delivering the best of us. Maybe you were there in person, maybe your ideas were taken there by your LCP, maybe you were online participating in the virtual discussions, or maybe you joined after this date. But irrelevant of when you joined the 2015 movement, you are an AIESECer, and you are part of 66 years of culture, belief and ambition which has brought us to this point: GLS 2014 in Mainland of China, where the leaders of the world’s youth leadership provider will build the pathway for AIESEC to be the biggest and best version it has ever been. Welcome to GLS 2014! This GLS we will continue to movement towards 2015 the same way we started it in 2010 – as one network, collaborating together. This will be a space to connect and create, where we will both challenge and trust, where we will learn and teach and where you all have an incredibly important role to play. Like the ancient concept of Yinyang, we rely upon a balance of current and elect to build generation 2015 together.
WELCOME TO GLS 2014
There are four main blocks of GLS: Generation 2015: We will be discussing what 2015 means for AIESEC, for the World and for us as the generation who will deliver it Leading 2015: Through sharing our experiences and learnings we will strengthen our leadership capacity for 2014 and 2015 Our Roadmap: We will enable each entity’s specific contribution to 2014 and plan how to do this together Taking Action: We will find the right strategies we need to achieve our roadmap and make some Big decisions!
