Water is essential to our lives, because the human body is composed of 70% of it. There are different types of water we consume daily: public water supply, drinking bottled, and natural, the difference between them lies in the type of lead dissolved substances (chlorides, nitrates, calcium, iron, etc..)

Water is our most precious resource. Water is vital

to life. Humans, plants, and animals are made up of

mostly water. All living things would die if it

weren't for water. We use water for drinking,

washing, cleaning, cooking, and growing our food as

well as many, many other things. The average

American uses around 150-250 gallons of water

daily. Even more water is used by industries to

generate electricity, manufacture things, and

transport people and goods.

• The Benefits of water:

Water is necessary for almost every bodily function. Some of these functions include regulating body temperature, carrying nutrients and oxygen to cells, cushioning joints, protecting tissues, and taking away unwanted toxins.

How much water should you drink each

day? It's a simple question with no easy answers. Studies have produced varying recommendations over the years, but in truth, your water needs depend on many factors, including your health, how active you are and where you live.

Although no single formula fits everyone, knowing more about your body's need for fluids will help you estimate how much water to drink each day

One should pay special attention to

how water is stored. Water should

be stored in a cool, dark and dry

place and it should be stored away

from cleaning supplies and other

chemicals. Water can pick up odors

from other substances that we

cannot detect in the air, so one

should always pay attention to the

properties of other substances

that are stored with the water.

How should water

be stored?

Drinking water has to be protected from microorganisms and contaminants that can enter the water through the pipelines that transport it to households. This happens by means of disinfection with various disinfection agents, chlorine being the most widely used one.

• When one's tap water smells like chlorine it does not mean a danger to the people that drink it. Chlorine levels used in drinking water are not high enough to form a serious threat to anyone's health.If the water has a chlorine smell, it may actually indicate that not enough chlorine is being added to the system. By increasing the amount of chlorine used at the treatment plant, different forms of chlorine are created in the water.
