Masters in Neuropsychology

I am a prospective student for the Masters' inNeuropsychology and a graduate of the PsychologyDepartment at the International Faculty, CITY College.Through the courses of Cognitive Psychology andNeuroscience that I attended, I was fascinated by the wayhuman brain functions and adapts to environmentalchanges. When I took part in a neurofeedback session, Isaw a participant moving an airplane with his brainactivity and at that point I realised that our brain is ouridentity. As Stephen Hawking once said “The brain isessentially a computer and consciousness is like a comput-er programme. It will cease to run when the computer isturned off. Theoretically, it could be re-created on a neuralnetwork, but that would be very difficult, as it wouldrequire all one's memories”This is what I want to study!

Course overviewThe MA in Clinical Neuropsychology focuses on the understanding of behaviouraland cognitive deficits that follow damage to the brain in clinical populations suchas neurological patients (e.g., stroke and epilepsy), people with neurodegenerative and psychiatric disorders, and children with neurodevelopmental conditions. This course equips students with all theskills and knowledge required to pursue a career in ClinicalNeuropsychology. Clinical neuropsychologists use tools of neuropsychologicalassessment to map the cognitive profile of patients and children with braininjury and develop rehabilitation programmes and interventions to improvethe cognitive function and quality of life of these patients.Students will be trained to use state-of-art equipment for "brain training"and the measurement of psycholophysiological resposes in our brand newNeurofeedback Laboratory, as well as practical training on NeuropsychologicalAssessment.The programme offers its graduates the opportunity to get a postgraduateBritish University degree and acquire practical experience on ClinicalNeuropsychology. Students can seek professional rights via the Internationalroute of the Health and Care Professions Council (UK) on an individual basisas a Practitioner Psychologist.

Course overviewThe Msc in Cognitive Neuropsychology is a research-oriented degree that

provides strong research skills in Neuropsychology allowing students to

further pursue a PhD in Neuropsychology and Neuroscience. The programme

focuses on understanding brain-behaviour relations in neurological

patients (e.g., stroke and epilepsy), people with neurodegenerative and

psychiatric disorders, and children with neurodevelopmental conditions.

The programme also includes practical knowledge in neuropsychological

assessment and rehabilitation. The programme is completed with the

submission of a dissertation on Neurospychology/Neuroscience, which

equips students with advanced research skills in designing and implementing

independent research in this fast-developing field. Students will be trained

to use state-of-art equipment for "brain training" and the measurement of
