SECOND YEAR

InfinitE timeInspired by Andy Goldsworthy’s documentary Rivers and Tides, I incorporated his use of time. The clay represents the natural landscape. Looking from the outside, the strong walls represent the troubles the Irish have had to overcome throughout history. Once when the strong walls are discovered, a clear path is seen directly in the middle of the walls. The circular shape shows how the Irish always come together to form as one hence the circular shape representing infinity. The history and the People of Ireland will live on forever while moving on to a greater future. This is shown through the broken clay to create a passage. The clear plexiglass is used to represent that looking back on the history of Ireland and looking at the future unites the Irish as one.

United together as one, through a bond of history,Ireland’s culture has grown a new, while the future continues to be an unwritten mystery.
