Jaws was the breakout film for the starting out director, but this amazing film almost didn’t happen. It won academy awards for editing, original score and sound and earned $470 million.

Spielberg’s next big film Close Encounters With the Third Kind. It got nominated for seven Academy Awards with one being best director.
