For intensive leaf production:harvest green matter when plants reach a
height of 50 cm or more (every 35-40days), cut at a distance of 15-20 cm above
the ground
For pod harvesting:as food: harvest pods when they are
young, tender, and green. They are eatenas green beans. Immature seeds can be
used in recipes similar to green peas
for oil or planting material: harvest podswhen they are mature and spurting.
Mature seeds appear in dark brown color.

1. The seeds were taken from the ancient villageinside the International Crops ResearchInstitute of the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT)
2. It is now propagated at the Mariano MarcosState University (MMSU) .

1. It is the same specie as the native variety.2. They grow faster.3. The leaves are fines and more palatable when
cooked.4. The fruits or pods are longer (70cm to 100cm)
are fleshier.5. There is a line that the fruits or pods are short
and stout.

1. The survival rate of the stem for planting is verylow, hence it is recommended that the seedsshould be planted.
2. The plant starts flowering in six (6) months3. The plants are very resistant to drought.4. The plants cannot survive submerged
conditions for one week.
