Sustainability Photography: Thinking Through the Lens –
Making the Connections – Seeing the interdependencies
in our world
Energy Energy is one important way many of the things
we see and interact with every day are connected, and sometimes one of the hardest to see.
Energy-based definitions:
Source – something that releases energy and is the source for energy producers
Producer – something that uses the energy from a source to create a new form of energy that is usable by many consumers
Consumer – something that uses this converted energy in order to function. Can be at different levels
Interdependency Key idea – energy was an example
Many different parts of a system depend on each other in more than one way
When even one connection is lost, a system can fail
Simplicity Simplicity is used to single out an
item or items from their surrounding for particular emphasis.
Framing Framing is used to bring the focus
of the image to the desired subject. Adds depth and perspective to image.
