DFCIARATION
I, Jonathan A. Fowler, certify that I completed an Honours Bachelor of Science (Special) degree in geology in 1968 from the University of London in the United Kingdom. Subsequently, I obtained a Master of Philosophy degree in geology in 1976, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in geology in 1982 from the same uni versi ty.
I have been involved in geological exploration, evaluation and mine geology since 1968 for the Anglo American Corporation of South Africa Limited and for Monopros Limited, together with their associated companies.
J. A.Fowler.

4. Locality plan for Pionjar holes.
5. Locality plan for Winkie drill hole.
1. INTRODUCTION
A programme of staking, line cutting and ground rnagnetometry was carried out during January, February and March, 1987, on a series of anomalies selected from airborne geophysical surveys of northern Ontario. The work was performed under contract by Phantom Exploration under the supervision of Mr I. Spence and the overall direction of J.A. Fowler. The claims are held by Mr D. Gagne of 2418 Glenwood School Drive, Unit 18, Burlington, Ontario.
The area of interest is centred approximately 150 kilometres from Nakina (see locality map).
2. CLAIMS
The group of claims, referred to as "Grid A", is located within the Porcupine Mining Division. Grid A consists of a single block of 25 claims, near Bog Lake on Claim Map G-15M5, some 25 kilometres east of Ogoki Post.
Access to the claims was by ski-equipped aircraft from Nakina. Summer access is only possible by helicopter as the lake is too shallow for the safe use of float equipped aircraft in most years.
3. GROUND MAGNETIC SURVEY
Grids were cut over each claim block with a 100 metre line spacing. Stations were established every 25 metres along the lines. Each grid consisted of north-south tie lines and an east-west base line. All distances were chained out from the base line.
The magnetometer survey was carried out using EDA PPM-375 units with an EDA PPM-375 or OMNI-IV base station. The data was corrected automatically by linking the field and base station units to correct for diurnal variation. All instruments read out the total magnetic field with an accuracy of 0.1 nanoteslas (nT).
The map of total field readings shows the positions and values of the stations, white the map of total field contoured values shows the contoured results.
RESUITS
The ground magnetic survey defines a circular anomaly in the cast, centered at station Lll+OOE 2+25 S, and a smaller oval anomaly in the west centred on L2+OOW 0-*00. Both of these were covered by a single airborne anomaly.
The larger eastern anomaly peaks at 59012.1 nT, about 112 nT above the background of 58600 nT. The western anomaly is less pronounced and peaks at 58736.7 nT.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Drilling of the larger, eastern anomaly at LllnOOE 2+OOS to a depth of at least 162 metres is recommended. Depending upon the source of this anomaly, it may be necessary to drill a second hole on the smaller, western anomaly at L2+OOW 1+OON to a similar depth.
6. GROUND WORK
In preparation for diamond drilling, the sites for the proposed drill holes were probed with soil sampling rods attached to a gasoline-powered Pionjar to establish the thickness of muskeg and overburden, and possibly bedrock type. At both proposed drill holes on this grid, the test holes were abandoned in frozen till without reaching bedrock. The Pionjar was incapable of penetrating the frozen till layer, and recovery of the rods was slow and tedious. In order to pull up the drill rods, it was necessary to fabricate a special platform to spread the load from the extractor jack on the muskeg so that the rods could be retrieved.
The drilling progress and man days are recorded in the following table.

7. DRILLING
Probe drilling was undertaken at East Bog Lake under contract hy Terraphysics Ltd. using a OK Smit JKS15 Winkie Drill equipped with an EX core barrel (which gave a 38rnm diameter hole).
Drilling proceeded through muskeg, overburden and clays to AA.S metres (146 feet) at which depth the hole was abandoned as the drill was incapable of further penetration in overburden. No core was retrieved, but pieces of clast? which were intersected within the hole indicate that much of the overburden contains glacier derived fragments, some of which are in excess of 100mm in thickness.
The drill log is appended.
8. RECOMMENDATIONS
Both drill targets should be investigated by drilling using a larger drill rig.
