Visitors are invited to learn about the ocean and the
richness of life that it supports through the Aquarium’s
collection of regional specimens on display. There issomething for everyone at the Aquarium! As visitors
enter the Aquarium, they are immersed into the rocky
shore environment as the rock walls in the open gallery
were built to resemble stone bluffs in Acadia National
Park. Set within the rock walls, they will discover
windows that bring into view a variety of Maine marine
ecosystems that exhibit a variety of native specimens.
We provide our visitors with an exciting opportunity to
learn about Maine’s marine resources and fisheries and
to instill in our visitors a sense of wonder, respect, and
stewardship for these resources.
