DS3 SERIES Current Sensing Switches
DS3 Series Current Sensing Switches combine a Hall effect sensor, signal conditioner and a limit alarm into a single package. The DS3 Series offers three jumper-selected current input ranges and frequency response from DC to 400 Hz. Available in a solid-core case with choice of relay or a universal solid-state output.
Current Sensing Switch Applications
Welders and Platers• Instant indication of equipment status.
Large Drive Motors• Provides enhanced field loss protection.
Power Supplies• Signals over-current before equipment fails.
Machine Operation• Instant status of motors, lamps and other loads.
Telecom Sites• Monitors battery output.
Current Sensing Switch Features
Compact, One-piece Design• Fits in easily amongst motor starters and power supplies in
crowded control panels.
Input Isolation• Safer than shunt/relay combinations.
Output Installation• Isolated output greatly simplifies wiring.
Tough• Designed to handle harsh industrial environments.
Adaptive Hysteresis• Hysteresis is 5% of setpoint, allowing closer control than
fixed hysteresis switches.
Built-in Mounting Feet• Simple, two-screw installation allows for secure mounting.

Absolutely no one can discount the impact that an accident has on plant operations.
In addition to the emotional cost to employees and managers, the direct and in-direct costs of an accident accelerate quickly and can reach staggering amounts.
Direct medical expenses and workers’ compensation benefits are just the beginning of the costs associated with an injury. The indirect costs of lost production, OSHA fines, replacing damaged goods and machinery, and paying higher insurance premiums can represent a large portion of the total cost of an accident with significant impact to the company’s bottom line.
So, what can be done to avoid these costs? For every $1 spent on safety, there is a $3 savings in accident cost avoidance.
Don’t wait for an accident to trigger a call for help — be proactive and take the first step by offering your prospects and customers a Gotcha Stick.
The unique Gotcha Stick is the perfect merchandising incentive for safety-conscious prospects. Use it as an inexpensive, but valuable memento of your first impression sales call, or as a give-away for seminars, trade shows and proposal presentations, or as a promotion for qualified web/email responses.
Over the past 10 years, Omron STI has delivered over 5000 Gotcha Sticks every year!
Omron STI customers and prospects acknowledge that the Gotcha Stick is the one of the best and most useful tools they have. As a free give away to your qualified pros-pects and current customers, the Gotcha Stick is a great way to build and maintain brand and company awareness and preference. And, at a cost of only $5 to you, the Gotcha Stick is on par with all the “me, too” promo items like golf balls and T-shirts. But unlike golf balls and T-shirts that get lost in the woods or relegated to a drawer, the Gotcha Stick is for keeps. We know, because we have prospects and customers calling us back for more when their stick is broken, or when they need another one to give to another department or plant operation.
Omron STI makes it easy to order your Gotcha Sticks online, and we provide free, fast delivery. Order now while our in-stock supply lasts.
Three reasons why manufacturers need your help with machine safeguarding...
u The level of expertise required in all
phases of the safeguarding process
is not a core competency of most
manufacturers.
u EH&S personnel have to be
involved with every area of
Environmental Health & Safety.
They are too busy to get involved
with required details of guarding
systems and safety interfaces.
u It needs to get done right the first
time.

ABOUT SP INDUSTRIES
SP Industries was established as a manufacturing facility in 1957, initially operating as Quality Steel Fabrication.
As the name implies, the company specialized in custom fabrication, working with such companies as Caterpillar
Tractor, GMC, Excello Corp. and Lockheed Manufacturing, among many others. The company also built
compactor rams and frames for Spartan Waste-Pac, the original designer, patentee and manufacturer of refuse
reduction equipment. After several changes in ownership, the key long-term employees created a new company,
SP Industries Inc., that has maintained its position as the leading waste handling equipment manufacturer in the
world. The company specializes in waste handling compaction and dumper systems tailored to the specific
requirements of diverse industral and commercial applications.
Let our team announce your accomplishments, new products and special interests to the world!
