This is a simple generator is designed to allow a GameMaster to quickly generate titles, perhaps for adventures, evocative of the works of H. P. Lovecraft or, perhaps, thoseauthors who came after him. As well as being titles for adventures, they could also beused as titles for creatures, or perhaps even the name of strange monsters.
How to Use the TablesTable 1 is loosely "things".
Table 2 is prepositions.
Table 3 is loosely "places".
Table 4 is a collection of alternative specific places.
If the preposition from Table 2 doesn't make sense, when considered against theresults from Tables 1 and 3, roll it again. If the result as a whole doesn't seem to makesense and the term is used very loosely roll again as well until a better combinationis achieved. The results from Table 3 can, if suitable, be made plural or singular as
desired.
As an alternative, Table 3 can also bereplaced by using the proper names ofplaces or even people such as those fromTable 4, which provides a number of generaland specific locations, mostly associatedwith Earth or the Mythos. Alternatively, theGM can pick and choose their own specificlocations or people from their own setting orotherwise to use to replace the results fromTable 3 instead of using the fourth table.
