“Lord Show Us Your Ways ” by Pastor Fee SolivenPsalm 25:12-15
Sunday MorningFebruary 24, 2013
Psalm 25:12-1512 Who is the man that fears the LORD?
Him shall He teach in the way He chooses. 13 He himself shall dwell in prosperity, And his descendants shall inherit the
earth. 14 The secret of the LORD is with
those who fear Him, And He will show them His covenant. 15 My eyes are ever toward the LORD, For He shall pluck my
feet out of the net.
Matthew 6:33-3433 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry
about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
2 Timothy 1:7"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound
mind"
Psalm 25:1-111 To You, O LORD, I lift up my soul. 2 O my
God, I trust in You; Let me not be ashamed; Let not my enemies triumph
over me. 3 Indeed, let no one who waits on You be ashamed; Let those be
ashamed who deal treacherously without cause. 4 Show me Your ways, O LORD;
Teach me Your paths. 5 Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; On You I wait all the day.
6 Remember, O LORD, Your tender
mercies and Your lovingkindnesses, For they are from of old. 7 Do not remember
the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions; According to Your mercy
remember me, For Your goodness' sake, O LORD. 8 Good and upright is the LORD;
Therefore He teaches sinners in the way. 9 The humble He guides in justice, And the humble
He teaches His way. 10 All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth, To such as keep His
covenant and His testimonies. 11 For Your name's sake, O LORD, Pardon my iniquity, for it
is great.
A Pattern for Making Decisions Through Christ Jesus
1. Clear the Pathway of our Heart
Psalm 66:18"If I regard iniquity in my heart, The Lord
will not hear"
James 4:7-87 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to
you...
2. Exercise Patience
Proverbs 3:5-65 Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And
He shall direct your paths.
Colossians 1:10-1210 that you may have a walk worthy of
the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 strengthened with
all might, according to His glorious power,
for all patience and longsuffering with joy; 12 giving thanks to the Father who has
qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light.
Psalm 25:3"Indeed, let no one who waits on You be
ashamed; Let those be ashamed who deal treacherously without cause"
3. Be Alert to Pressure
Romans 12:1-21 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by
the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world,
but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is
that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Joshua 1:8-9This Book of the Law shall not depart from
your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do
according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way
prosperous, and then you will have good success. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be
strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD
your God is with you wherever you go."
Psalm 34:1-41 I will bless the LORD at all times; His
praise shall continually be in my mouth. 2 My soul shall make its boast in the LORD; The humble shall hear of it and be glad. 3 Oh, magnify the LORD with me, And let us
exalt His name together. 4 I sought the LORD, and He heard me, And delivered
me from all my fears.
Galatians 6:9-109 And let us not grow weary while doing
good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.
4. Persist in Prayer
Philippians 4:6-76 Be anxious for nothing, but in
everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be
made known to God; 7 and the peace of
God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through
Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 6:18"praying always with all prayer and
supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and
supplication for all the saints--"
Isaiah 55:8-98 "For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways," says the LORD. 9 "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your
ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.
5. Rest in God’s Promise
Matthew 7:7-127 "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be
opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 9 Or
what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him
a serpent? 11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children,
how much more will your Father who is in
heaven give good things to those who ask Him! 12 Therefore, whatever you want
men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
Psalm 119:105"Your word is a lamp to my feet And a
light to my path"
Psalm 119:160"The entirety of Your word is truth, And every one of Your righteous judgments
endures forever"
Matthew 24:35"Heaven and earth will pass away, but My
words will by no means pass away"
6. Wait for Christ’s Peace
2 Thessalonians 3:16"Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord
be with you all"
Romans 15:13"Now may the God of hope fill you with all
joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy
Spirit"
Colossians 3:15-1715 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all
wisdom, teaching and admonishing one
another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatever you do in word
or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father
through Him.
