Strategic Lead – Job Summary

• Leads on the strategic leadership, commissioning and

development of library and knowledge services and

eLearning initiatives across the London area

• Ensures the co-ordination, procurement and management of

electronic information and learning resources

• Assures the quality of library services delivered to NHS staff

• Provide representation on national library and eLearning collaboratives

Working with eKAT, the Strategic Lead is responsible for:

• Strategy and policy setting for library and knowledge services and eLearning

• Leading & advising on library service development, modernisation and innovation

• Leading quality monitoring process for London’s library services

• Representing London on relevant national groups

• Developing strategic partnerships and encourages collaborative working at regional and national level

• Procurement of electronic information and eLearning resources for the whole workforce in London

Working with eKAT, the Strategic Lead is responsible for:

• Providing expert consultancy in relevant areas

• Providing specialist advice and support, e.g. in recruitment of senior Trust library staff

• Ensuring 24/7 availability of electronic resources through identity management, access authentication and technical linking infrastructure

• Co-ordinating analysis of user and usage statistics for electronic information and learning resources

• Promoting a culture of resource sharing and “do once and share”

• Helps library, information and eLearning staff make the most

of existing and new resources and technologies

• Ensures library, information and eLearning staff are up to

date and confident in using these resources and

technologies for the benefit of users and potential users

• Promotes resource sharing between organisations and

wider access to electronic resources
